"Plop~" A small pebble fell into the lake, making a pleasantly rounded sound. Yet if anyone had watched the person throwing the stones, the interest stirred by that sound would have vanished at once.
A cold-looking boy sat atop a huge boulder by the lake. He might have been in his teens, but his body carried a deathly stillness that sent chills down one's spine.
"Thud!" A small stone suddenly flew in from behind and struck the back of the boy's head. Surprisingly, the little boy seemed completely unharmed by the attack.
"Idiot, moron, dumbass—are you spacing out again, you fool? Hahaha!" Several boys behind him looked disdainfully at the cold boy on the boulder and sneered. Clearly, they were the ones who had thrown the stone.
The dull boy who had been struck turned around. His cold eyes held neither emotion nor intelligence as he looked at the four boys who had thrown stones at him, but he said nothing. Then he turned back, jumped down from the boulder, and walked toward them.
The boys did not feel the slightest fear at the chilling look in his eyes. They pulled faces and laughed wildly. "Hey, another round of beating up the idiot!" With that, they rushed at the cold, emotionless boy and threw punches at him.
The wooden boy neither dodged nor evaded. He let the four fists strike his body, grunted dully, then threw a punch at the shoulder-height boy before him. His fist smashed into the bridge of the boy's nose, making his tears and snot run as he flew into a rage.
"Damn it, I'll kill you, you idiot!" the beaten boy shouted furiously, calling for the other three boys to charge together and beat up the cold boy again.
