Early in the morning, at Mirai's doorstep, his "mother," Suzuki Masa, bid farewell to his "father," Kimura Takuya. Under his mother's guidance, Mirai stood off to one side as well. Though Mirai was "demented" and unable to speak, they could at least have the formality of a farewell.
The sun had only just poked its little face over the eastern horizon, casting a soft white glow. The stream before the house babbled gently, while birds chirped in the Forest behind it, brimming with life.
Such a scene could not be seen in Konoha Village. As Konoha shinobi, Mirai's parents did not live within Konoha Village, but had settled in one of the many small settlements outside it. Though it was rare for Konoha shinobi not to live in Konoha, it was not unheard of. In fact, just like in the anime Mirai had watched before, when the Six Paths of Pain attacked Konoha, several shinobi stationed outside as sentries were also an example of people living beyond the village.
Suzuki Masa helped Kimura Takuya straighten his clothes. Her belly had grown increasingly large, and her face was full of worry as she told him, "Takuya, this mission is a little troublesome. You have to be careful. Even... even if you have to abandon the mission in a dangerous moment, do it. Our second child is about to be born. You have to come back safely."
Yes, Suzuki Masa had been pregnant for nearly ten months. If nothing unexpected happened, the baby would be born soon. As for whether this second child was because Kimura Takuya had been disappointed in Mirai and wanted a healthy, normal child, Mirai could not be bothered to think about something that had nothing to do with him.
