On the early morning of July 20, the light of the Two Suns fell from the top of the castle and shone upon the senior Beech Entes. After an entire night's effort, his enormous trunk was now covered in amber-colored "patches."
Looking at the great tree through the Magic Web now, there were basically no leak points below the crown. Only after Landen made one final inspection and confirmed it did he finally let out a breath of relief.
Over three hundred years of shedding, Entes had secreted well over a thousand pieces of amber, yet the gashes on his body were in the same order of magnitude. Landen had spent the whole night patching holes. At the start, he had everyone collect amber; after he processed it himself, he found people to plug it into the openings.
But Landen soon discovered that if they wanted to bring out the full effect of the Life Magic Patterns inside the amber, they had to connect the Magic Patterns within to the natural Magic Patterns on the trunk. That could only be done by Halcala and Landen.
And so the division of labor for the whole team changed: Wendy, Blaze, the Magic Pattern Tigers, and the others who knew fire-element magic were responsible for gently heating the amber; Firefly, Kaiyi, and Tierney were responsible for processing the Magic Patterns within; everyone else handled passing things along and running errands.
By the latter half of the night, Gleia had also learned how to install Magic Pattern Amber, so she and Wendy took advantage of their dragon-transformed tentacles. After Landen marked out the installation positions, the two girls installed them in batches, while the two intermediate Stegosauruses and Yawenni, who cultivated both magic and martial arts, joined the ranks making Magic Pattern Amber.
