Background / History

Gleia is the daughter of the Demigod Herbivore Dragon Revendia and the Half-Elf Dragonborn priestess Ruikelingzi. Her mother had originally been offered to Revendia’s cave-dwelling lineage by her tribe, later returned to become its priestess, and bore Gleia and her two elder brothers through the Blue Dragon Family’s efforts to secure Revendia’s bloodline. Gleia and her brothers awakened both Dragonborn and elven bloodlines before age ten. 105

Her bloodline allows her family to progress through the absorption route: rather than relying solely on conventional Battle Qi or magic training, they can use Magic Beast meat to achieve breakthroughs. Both of Gleia’s elder brothers became High-Rank before age twenty-eight, while Gleia was regarded as a future High-Rank and eventual Legend from an early age. 105 231 234

Gleia studied at Blue Dragon School, served as a teaching assistant there, and grew up around Dragon Kingdom royalty, including Richie Red Dragon. Her family and allied nobles repeatedly treated her prospective marriage as a political matter, including plans to marry her into a border viscount’s household and Richie's public proposal. 123 131 132 418

During the attack on Blue Magpie City, Gleia displayed exceptional talent as a Great Mage by flying with the Dragon Wing Technique and routing Barbarian Cavalry. She protected Count Bristle-Wolf during the battle and returned with him to the castle. 76

Gleia is an unusually large Dragonborn girl, described during the Battle of Blue Magpie City as approximately three meters tall with a three-meter black-scaled tail. Her golden eyes, tail, and draconic magical manifestations distinguish her from ordinary mages. 76 107 118

Gleia is initially quiet and reserved, often communicating through small movements of her tail rather than words. However, she becomes articulate and patient when discussing magic, particularly with students willing to learn. 107 108

She places great importance on knowledge, perseverance, and foundational study. She urges Landen to continue learning, teaches Wendy the value of studying magical languages, and advocates education for commoners as well as nobles. 118 384 418

Although conscious of her noble and Dragonborn status, Gleia does not discriminate against students from poorer backgrounds. As principal, she is especially concerned with commoner students’ education and welfare. 338 418

In battle, she is composed, proud, and openly dismissive of opponents whose magical understanding she considers shallow.
