On the evening of the 12th, Landen and Gleia attended the Red-Dragon Literature Award committee banquet together.
It was at this banquet that the Duke of Dragon Tooth, Richie Red Dragon, announced he was going to marry another woman from the Lanyuan House and divorce Susie because of her "work transfer."
"I almost forgot that Dragon Tooth City has a Teleportation Portal of its own," Landen said with a laugh.
"I heard they were afraid Susie would distinguish herself on the northern battlefield, so they deliberately sent her to Elk City in the south to serve as a knight with no real duties. They won't let her leave, but they won't let her take part in any battles, either." Gleia brought up Susie with a sigh.
The two girls had practically grown up together. In Gleia's eyes, the outstanding female knight had been betrayed by both families. It was Susie's earlier planning and direct involvement that had enabled Richie to secure his position as Duke of Dragon Tooth. Yet her efforts had also inflamed tensions among the great nobles, turning her into a scapegoat.
Landen, however, remained noncommittal. "King Dusen and Prime Minister Richelieu both spoke to me about this yesterday. Susie has been more forceful and proactive than they expected. In their eyes, many of her overly aggressive actions led to the Flying Dragon Family's retaliation."
In King Dusen's eyes, everything in the Royal Capital had remained under control as recently as this time last year. But after Landen killed the Dark Mentor Uzloni, Susie seized the Flying Dragon Family's territory, and matters gradually spiraled out of control.
"I just heard some people from the Flying Dragon Family saying they'd find a way to keep Susie trapped for good. She'll be miserable staying in the south." Gleia knew Susie
