Sacred Soul Village, Tang San's home.
Su Yuntao walked up to the entrance of the shabby little house before him.
Though they shared the same name, this Su Yuntao wasn't the original Su Yuntao of this world. He came from another space-time, and today, he would begin carving out his own path as a transmigrator with no system, no cheat, and no backing.
"Someone from Spirit Hall!" A burly, exceptionally slovenly man in gray inside the house slowly spat out one word. "Get out!"
Though there was no trace of Soul Power or pressure, Su Yuntao's eyes narrowed, and his expression grew solemn.
"As expected of the Clear Sky Douluo. Though he reveals none of the aura of a Titled Douluo, his sheer presence is enough to demand respect!"
"Tang Hao!" Old Jack, standing behind him, didn't know what was going on and scolded him angrily. "Do you know what you're doing? This is Master Su from Spirit Hall. He's a Battle Soul Master with two Soul Rings! You—you—"
A strange smile appeared on Su Yuntao's face. He hurriedly said, "Village Chief Old Jack, I'll handle things here. Take Xiao San to your home to rest."
"Ah, Master Su, please be understanding. Xiao San's father has always been like this. I hope you won't take offense." Old Jack shook his head and led the bewildered Tang San away. He knew Tang Hao was the most useless person in all of Sacred Soul Village, but he hadn't expected him to be so utterly clueless as to provoke a noble Soul Master from Spirit Hall.
The young Soul Master, whose surname was Su, had already reached level twenty-nine at such a young age! Breaking through level thirty to become a Soul Elder was all but certain! And yet, in the face of someone like him, Tang Hao—the most worthless man in Sacred Soul Village—dared to speak so brazenly. He truly didn't know his place, didn't know better, and didn't know the height of the heavens!
Watching Old Jack lead Tang San away, Su Yuntao turned and carefully sized up the man lying amid the clutter inside the house. He stood nearly two meters tall and was exceptionally burly, but he was filthy beyond belief. His gray-black sackcloth robe looked as if years of neglect had turned it black.
It was hard to imagine that this listless, filthy middle-aged man was none other than the Clear Sky Douluo, Tang Hao, who had once shaken the world and awed the continent!
"Do I have to say it again?" Tang Hao said flatly. "Someone from Spirit Hall, get out!"
Su Yuntao remained impassive, then spoke. "There's a wondrous place in this world called the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye."
Tang Hao's half-closed eyes slowly opened. A trace of concern surfaced in his heart, but with the composure of a Titled Douluo, he kept it off his face.
Su Yuntao remained calm, watching Tang Hao's expression closely. He wanted to enter the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye to pick Immortal Herbs, but the problem was that a level-twenty-nine Soul Grandmaster like him had no business venturing inside.
After careful consideration, Su Yuntao had chosen Tang Hao. It wasn't because he thought Tang Hao had particularly high moral standards. Compared with other powerful figures, Tang Hao didn't need the Immortal Herbs inside the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye. He needed the place itself.
In this world, only the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, that treasure trove of nature, could bring his wife back to life. And that was what would keep Su Yuntao safe.
Tang Hao couldn't leave the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye behind if he wanted to resurrect Ah Yin. Su Yuntao only needed to leave a few letters, ready to be sent from various places across the continent, to give himself some means of protection against Tang Hao.
Su Yuntao continued, "Its power means more to you than even your own life, because it can increase the growth rate of plants a hundred or even a thousandfold!"
Tang Hao's eyes flew open. His right hand clenched into a fist, and his body rose to its feet before he could stop himself!
"Who are you, really?"
Su Yuntao smiled faintly. "My lord, my surname is Su. To you, my name is nothing more than an insignificant label. But one day, you'll remember that someone like me exists in this world."
Tang Hao's eyes narrowed, and his body began to tremble. He was a Titled Douluo, but no one could keep their emotions in check when faced with the life or death of the person they loved most!
"Young man, tell me! Was what you just said true? Is there really such a wondrous place in this world?"
Su Yuntao smiled. "Haotian Douluo, aren't you curious how I know who you are? Or what I'm after? I showed up out of nowhere—doesn't that make you curious?"
Tang Hao grew even more agitated. As a Titled Douluo who had weathered countless hardships, he could naturally read a great deal from Su Yuntao's words. This level-twenty-nine Soul Grandmaster wouldn't speak like this without understanding the price of deceiving a Titled Douluo.
"I don't know what you want, nor how you learned who I am. I don't know how you learned everything about Ah Yin and me, either. But none of that matters. Young man, tell me! Is there truly a treasure in this world called the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, where plants can grow a hundred or even a thousand times faster?"
Su Yuntao's expression grew serious as well. Anyone would be moved by the emotions Tang Hao was showing.
"Yes! Haotian Douluo, there is an Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye in this world. It can bring your wife back to life!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha!" At those words, Tang Hao threw his head back and laughed. Then he sank to his knees—knees that had never bent before any opponent—and two streams of cloudy tears ran down his cheeks.
"Tell me quickly! Where is this place?"
Su Yuntao replied calmly, "Somewhere in Sunset Forest. If you're willing, Clear Sky Douluo, we can leave right now."
It took Tang Hao a long while to regain his composure. "Tell me, young man. What do you want?"
"Oh? Haotian Douluo, aren't you afraid this is a trap?"
"Hmph. You're a smart young man. If you wanted to capture me and earn a reward from Spirit Hall, the best thing to do would be to leave quietly after discovering who I am, not do what you're doing now. So I believe you've decided that making an ally of me would be more beneficial to you!"
Su Yuntao smiled. "It's always a pleasure talking to a smart man. But, Haotian Douluo, aren't you afraid you're leading me to a dead end? Spirit Hall might have to pay a steep price to kill you here in Sacred Soul Village, but if you fall into a death trap, it'll be easy for them."
"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Tang Hao laughed. "In this world, there are those who can defeat me! There are those who can kill me! But there is absolutely no one who can save you from me at such close range!"
At those words, Su Yuntao felt a surge of heroic spirit soar to the heavens. Though he didn't like the Clear Sky Sect, and liked Tang San even less, he couldn't help but admire Tang Hao's swagger. It was a shame that the Clear Sky Douluo, who had spent his life exuding such domineering confidence, had wasted away his years here in Sacred Soul Village.
"Just as expected of the Clear Sky Douluo, whose name shakes the world!" Su Yuntao said slowly. "If that's settled, then let's not waste time. Haotian Douluo, let's leave now!"
Tang Hao was clearly surprised. The young man before him hadn't made a single demand.
"Young man, tell me plainly what you want. If it's within my power, I won't refuse! As long as you can take me to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, this wondrous place, I'll keep my word!"
Su Yuntao waved a hand. "Haotian Douluo, I do want something from you, but for now, I only need you to take me to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye. We can talk about everything else once we get there."
