"Land," Augustus said into his command channel, disengaging the safety on his Gauss Rifle. "Surround that enemy force."

"Bullets loaded, stay close to your superior."

Upon receiving the order, the transport fleet immediately split into two groups. One group landed on the spot to block the Alpha Squadron's path, while the transport ships led by the Augustus flew to the rear to block their retreat.

At this moment, the camera at the bottom of the transport ship had captured images of several Revolutionary Army Wraith lowering their altitude and swooping down like hawks towards the Barren Canyon. The 25mm laser cannons approached the ground in the darkness and fired, and the orange-red laser beams set off a series of dazzling explosions.

The Alpha Squadron soldiers below immediately returned fire with shoulder-launched anti-aircraft rockets, but they quickly ran out of ammunition. Instead of attempting to fire at the aircraft thousands of feet high, the Alpha Squadron soldiers searched for cover in the rugged canyon.

Augustus believed that Duke and his elite Alpha Squadron guards were wishing they could bury their heads in the sand.

A dozen or so Revolutionary Army APOD transport ships skimmed low over the Barren Canyon, their exhaust plumes from dozens of thrusters resembling phoenix wings. To the Alpha Squadron soldiers, who were constantly dodging the laser cannon fire of the Wraith, these plumes seemed like the rapidly approaching Reaper.

After a brief jolt, the transport ship carrying Augustus landed smoothly on the sand like a feather. When he, Kerrigan, and Faraday stood up, the hatch was already open, and the blue lights used for illumination were on.

A good pilot is just as important as a good spaceship, and the pilot who sails the ship for the Revolutionary Army Marshal is naturally the best pilot in all of Korhal. After Korhal IV was destroyed by the Confederacy Fleets, all the Korhal lost most of their property, the problem of class solidification disappeared, the contradiction of the gap between the rich and the poor temporarily vanished, and the Korhal, driven by hatred, were more united than ever before.

During the construction of their new home in Umojan, some of the former ace pilots and top engineers of the Korhal Civil Interplanetary Airlines joined the Revolutionary Army and served Augustus.

As soon as they jumped off the transport ship, the alarm inside the Augustus Power Armor flashed red. Faraday followed closely behind, followed by Ghost operative Sarah Kerrigan, who closed her goggles as soon as she landed and disappeared into the darkness.

Dozens of the Revolutionary Army soldiers inside the transport ship filed out quickly but without panic. These men were mostly civilian officers, but fighting was not unfamiliar to them. Every staff officer in the command post was a veteran of many battles.

More Revolutionary Army soldiers disembarked from the other transport ships, bringing with them almost all the heavy individual support weapons in the Martin Fortress armory, including rockets, 25mm Mark II Railgun, and a large number of Electromagnetic Grenade.

"Advance in V-formation, flares!" Augustus gave the order over the command channel, and seconds later, the flares illuminated the entire canyon. At a distance of only a thousand yards from Augustus, the Alpha Squadron's bright white Power Armor was strikingly visible.

As the flares went off, both sides immediately opened fire. The dense gunfire echoed between the canyon walls, as if thousands of soldiers were firing simultaneously.

"He's at his wit's end." In that instant, Kerrigan Augustus on her private direct communication channel. "Although I can't sense Edmond Duke's thoughts, I can sense his soldiers. Duke is among them, they're planning to escape, and a transport ship from the Capital District Spaceport will come to pick them up."

"Be careful, they have two Ghost operative."

"Advance," Augustus said in the command channel. "They have Psionics; prepare to use EMP weapons."

"Don't conserve bullets, fire all our grenades and rockets!"

Augustus's troops immediately deployed in the canyon, advancing while firing.

Kerrigan's powerful Psionics energy spread out in front of Augustus and the Revolutionary Army soldiers at the forefront, like an invisible wall, causing all the bullets fired at them to stop in mid-air and fall to the ground.

Meanwhile, another Revolutionary Army, led by a lieutenant colonel, arrived from another direction. The surrounded Alpha Squadron had to contend with an enemy ten times its size, flanked by two forces.

Even Duke's elite guard had been fighting Raynor's Revolutionary Army in the Barren Canyon for more than ten hours. Their ammunition stored in their Power Armor shoulder armor had long been exhausted, and they were at a clear disadvantage in terms of firepower. Many soldiers were torn to pieces by rockets that were powerful enough to destroy the Kel-Morian heavy tanks, and their blood splattered everywhere.

As the fighting continued, the number of soldiers in Alpha Squadron dwindled, while Augustus's Revolutionary Army tightened its encirclement.

"Edmond Duke, I'm giving you a chance to surrender." Augustus shouted through the megaphone of his Power Armor as the Alpha Squadron's firepower became noticeably thinner.

"But you must cease fire first." A few seconds later, a response came from the Alpha Squadron.

"I'll give you three seconds to prepare, and we'll cease fire simultaneously." At this point, Augustus only four or five hundred yards away from the Alpha Squadron. He could see many Alpha Squadron soldiers' Power Armor being torn open, and they falling into pools of their own blood.

Augustus's side suffered almost no casualties, as all the bullets were blocked by Kerrigan's powerful Psionics.

"I can only surrender to your highest commander—not some imposter, self-appointed general." About half a minute after the actual ceasefire, a rough roar finally arrived.

"For God's sake, I'm a general, and I'll only surrender to your rebel leader. Bring Augustus Mengsk to me!" Even in dire straits, the voice remained incredibly arrogant. He didn't recognize Augustus's voice because he simply didn't believe the other man would be there at this moment.

"When did he get promoted?" Kerrigan's voice rang in Augustus's ears. "How did he become a general in less than a day?"

"Don't expose him about this; Duke values his reputation highly," Augustus replied.

"I am Augustus Mengsk." As Augustus spoke, Faraday waved his hand and, together with a dozen guards, blocked his way, guarding against any potential Ghost operative.

You have no chance to negotiate.

Augustus knew that the way to deal with someone like Duke was to never go along with him and let him get frustrated in his own world.

"Your troops have been wiped out, while my reinforcements are arriving in droves. Before today, you were a colonel in the Confederacy, but now you are nothing," he said.

"I'm giving you two options: join us or give your life for this corrupt government of the Confederacy. If you order the remaining Alpha Squadron soldiers and the Fleets to surrender, I can reserve a cabinet position for you."

"I must be crazy to join the rebels." Duke's voice wavered— Augustus persuaded him.

He didn't want to die.

"Okay, I'll surrender."
