What do you have to offer?

Mira Han pulled a deck of cards from her brown leather jacket with many pockets without anyone noticing, shuffling them with practiced ease.

"I have a total of four hundred credits in paper money and a few coins worth twenty credits." Matt Horner had been calculating his current amount of money, but then he was puzzled as to why he had been inexplicably drawn into a poker game.

"How's your card skills, young man?" Sitting next to Matt Horner was Jim Raynor, disguised as a middle-aged man with short black hair, his burly arms crossed over his chest. "Mira only knows Deadman's Port poker, a variant of Texas Hold'em. It's a fairly mainstream game in the Terran Confederacy Federation colonies, you shouldn't be unfamiliar with it."

Although he didn't understand why Augustus valued this young man so much, Raynor knew that he was the reason his group had traveled all the way to the Taradorn System. This young boy Matt Horner Matt Horner was still a high school student who hadn't graduated yet; he was naive and seemed quite gullible.

Admittedly, Matt Horner possesses admirable qualities that Raynor cannot ignore. For example, he is honest, reliable, meticulous, and full of a sense of justice. In Shiloh, honest people like Matt Horner are rare.

In any case, it's always right to trust Augustus. Augustus never made a mistake in recognizing talent.

Even Tychus Finley and Edmond Duke had their merits. The former was probably the toughest man in all of Koprulu, while the latter was always devastating when it came to destroying something—whether it was bad or good, rotten or stinky. Duke always managed to mess everything up with astonishing efficiency.

"The truth is, I'm quite good at it." Beneath Matt Horner's shy and reserved exterior lies a highly capable and pragmatic person. The Horner Family and their friends all know that as long as Matt Horner Matt Horner focuses on one thing, he will definitely be able to satisfy everyone.

Matt Horner's honest and reliable character was consistent; they were better at doing things and putting them into practice than those who were mere dreamers who talked big. Once, someone told the Horner Family that there was a group of robbers on their lawn, and old Matt Horner immediately took his sons, dogs, and shotguns and chased the robbers away instead of slowly calling the police.

Matt Horner Matt Horner is adept at handling all the world's problems—except plums, cold coffee, and quirky, unpredictable women.

"You're really good at it?" Raynor boasted to Matt Horner with a half-smile. "I bet nobody plays cards better than Mira Han, the Night Queen of Deadman's Port. She's beaten most of the Deadman's Port 7th Brigade at the table. Many bad and greedy gamblers have given up before they even pocketed their wages."

"I'll try to lose in a way that looks good." Matt Horner quickly resigned himself to the fact that he was about to lose all his money. As long as he could talk to Augustus a little more, he didn't mind losing all his possessions.

"Is this all you're betting?" Mira winked playfully, cutting the cards while staring at Matt Horner. The strange look in the eyes of this Matt Horner woman sent a chill down the poor boy's spine.

Matt Horner shuddered when he saw Mira stick out her tongue and lick her sexy pink lips. He made up his mind to stay far away from this pink-haired girl from now on, no matter what.

Everyone who has met Mira Han agrees that she is a lively and adorable girl, always full of energy. Mira is definitely a mischievous cat girl, and many people who have met her adore her.

Matt Horner firmly believed that, although the dream girl he was infatuated with was still an illusion in the dreams and fantasies of boys his age who were experiencing the first stirrings of love, Matt Horner was certain that if there really was a dream girl who haunted his dreams, it could not be Mira.

"That's all." Matt Horner took out his wallet and placed all the bills on the table. "I'm ready, Miss Mira."

"Ah--aren't you going to ask what my bet is?" Mira said, standing up and placing her hands on the table, staring at Matt Horner's bewildered yet somewhat frightened eyes. Her long pink hair swayed from side to side with her movement.

Matt Horner could now see Mira Han's youthful, rosy face and her lower-town style leather jacket and pants more clearly. Mira's clothes were also adorned with chains of unknown purpose, knives, and other trinkets that Matt Horner had never heard of before, making her look more like a rebellious young girl than the valiant Revolutionary Army female warrior he had imagined.

Mira Han's leather jacket was open at the chest, and Matt Horner could even see her black bra and the blade tattoo on her neck. Her right ear was pierced, and a gold-plated skull ornament hung from it. Even a true gentleman like Matt Horner had to admit that Mira was incredibly alluring at that moment.

"If you beat me—which is impossible, of course—I mean, if you happen to win, I'll give the victor a mysterious gift," Mira said provocatively.

"So, what's the stake?" Matt Horner asked Mira.

"It's a secret," Mira said, sitting back down. "I can't tell you."

"Dear Matt Horner."

Matt Horner immediately felt his blood pressure soaring, and at that moment he couldn't help but appreciate the benefits of the Horner Family's good upbringing.

"A mysterious prize?" Raynor was very excited. It was hard to tell if he was gloating, but he was definitely happy. "Mira has a lot of good stuff, whether it's money or a good gun, they're all worth a lot. It's a sure win. If I were you, I would definitely take this bet."

"Sir, to be honest, I don't know what the point of this card game is." Matt Horner frowned, having searched for Augustus in this upscale restaurant to no avail. "I thought we came here to discuss the revolution."

While searching for Augustus, Matt Horner noticed the fiery red-haired girl next to Mira. The girl sat upright, always with a cold and stern expression, her gaze occasionally sweeping over the other diners in the restaurant, her jade-green eyes seeming to conceal a blade. Matt Horner's intuition told him that this was definitely an extremely dangerous woman.

At this moment, Matt Horner couldn't help but marvel at the kind of women surrounding Augustus.

"Revolutions take many forms." Raynor was clearly trying to mislead people. "You'll see soon enough."

"Is that so?" Matt Horner's brow relaxed, as if he were deep in thought.

"Let's begin," Mira said with a smile.

"I will absolutely not hold back, I will absolutely not go easy on you."

The game started quickly, and when Augustus returned after ordering, Matt Horner was slumped dejectedly at his table, his eyes vacant, while Mira was laughing heartily without any restraint.

"What happened?" Augustus already guessed what had happened. Although Mira and Matt Horner met more than ten years earlier, Mira had also fallen in love with Matt Horner at first sight in the past.

Card games are a common tactic used by the Deadman's Port. They can empty the pockets of outsiders or lose themselves, because very few of the winners can actually leave the Deadman's Port.

"Mira and Matt Horner played a hand of cards, betting a little something," Raynor explained to Augustus. "You know Mira's personality all too well; she's almost never still. Even when leading the Deadman's Port 7th Brigade, she always carried a few decks of cards with her, winning both the battle and money from the other Allied commanders."

"I do know that; you could say he's infamous." Augustus nodded. "And then what happened?"

"Who's winning?"

"Matt Horner," Raynor replied, "Mira was almost defenseless."

"Are you sure she didn't even fight back?" Augustus looked at the dejected Matt Horner. "Why does he look like he's lost?"

"Because the winner's prize is Mira." Raynor shrugged. "Not just Mira, the prize also includes a marriage contract and a substantial dowry."

"Mira finally got married?" Augustus immediately understood. "That's a good thing. I thought she would never be interested in any man in her life."

After the Brood War in 2500, Raynor and Matt Horner encountered the future Queen of Mercenaries in Deadman's Port. Matt Horner Matt Horner won a card game against Mira Han, never expecting that the prize would be Mira herself. Since then Mira has given Matt Horner a private communication channel to reach her directly, but Matt Horner has apparently never contacted her.

This time, it's a meeting between the Revolutionary Army Mira Han and high school student Matt Horner Matt Horner.

"You don't seem very happy," Augustus said, looking at Matt Horner with concern.

"No, I'm happy," Matt Horner said with a look that was definitely not happy.

"I suppose she was joking with me." It's not easy to get Matt Horner, who is usually serious and methodical, to think this way.

"I'm not kidding, I'm serious." Mira slapped the table in response to Matt Horner. She was completely unconcerned about the impact she was having on those around her, while the people who were disturbed did cast curious glances at her.

Matt Horner's face paled. He realized he didn't have to abide by the marriage agreement, but the harsh reality told him it couldn't be that simple.

If Matt Horner hadn't been certain that he had simply run into Augustus and his group by chance, he would have almost suspected that they had been setting a trap for him all along.

"Don't you like this child?" Raynor looked at Matt Horner. "Mira is a good girl. Influenced by her upbringing, she's independent and strong. Most importantly, Mira knows how to earn money to support the family and can protect you from the storms of life."

"Not really," Matt Horner said after thinking it over seriously. "This is all too sudden, and I need some time to process it. Um, I mean, I've never thought about marriage. If I had to do that, I should first go through a tumultuous but romantic courtship."

"I'm still young."

"Has she always been like this?" Matt Horner asked Raynor.

"Not always." Raynor shrugged. "It seems Mira likes you a lot."

"Keep it up, Matt Horner."

"Ah--" A sigh immediately came from Matt Horner's end.

To say he dislikes Mira wouldn't be accurate, but Mira's personality isn't Matt Horner's type. Moreover, rather than saying Matt Horner dislikes Mira, it's more accurate to say that a woman actively throwing herself at him is what truly terrifies him.

"That shouldn't be too difficult," Raynor said, reminiscing about his first meeting with his wife, Elizabeth. "Don't you think so, Mira?"

"Whatever script you want, I'll give it to you." Mira's subsequent "Darling" sent shivers down Matt Horner.

"Come on, don't take it seriously, Matt Horner," Augustus comforted Matt Horner. "Mira can't force anyone; the discipline of the Revolutionary Army won't allow her to do that."

"Which one are you referring to?" Raynor asked.

"Revolutionary Army soldiers, no one is allowed to forcibly abduct women, rape, or plunder." Augustus laughed heartily, but was always mindful of his volume to avoid disturbing those around him.

"Okay." Augustus's words reassured Matt Horner somewhat, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"You are Augustus." Matt Horner hurriedly changed the subject, trying his best to escape Mira. Mira, however, seemed completely unfazed, as if she had Matt Horner figured out.

"You"

"Yes," Augustus said gently to him.

"I am Augustus Mengsk Korhal Revolutionary Army, an ordinary man."

"I'm sure you've already heard of Korhal IV and our story. In UNN news reports, the Revolutionary Army is portrayed as rioters, madmen, and murderous demons, but I'm going to tell a completely different story," he said.

"Far from Taradorn, on Korhal IV, the people there, undaunted by power and tyranny, bravely rose up, men and women of all ages, striving to overthrow the Confederacy's tyranny. The Confederacy Navy destroyed Korhal IV in retaliation for our revolution, but the flames of revolution still burn in every corner of the Koprulu Sector."

"Just one more spark and the Confederacy will be reduced to ashes."

"That's great!" Matt Horner shouted, raising his arms as if the Revolutionary Army had already won a victory.

"Don't think that revolution is something cool. Many, many good brothers have sacrificed their lives. They all gave their precious lives in the battle against the Confederacy henchmen," Augustus.

"I'm not afraid," Matt Horner said. "I'm not afraid to sacrifice."

"For the revolution, Marshal Mengsk, I am ready to sacrifice myself. Take me with you, Marshal. I've had enough of the utterly boring life on the Tyrador IX."

Augustus and Raynor exchanged a glance, both understanding each other's expressions.

"No," Augustus immediately and firmly refused. "You are too young. If you want to join the Revolutionary Army, you must at least get your parents' consent."

"It's alright," Matt Horner said sincerely. "My parents were also supporters of the Revolutionary Army. It's a Horner Family tradition for the second son to travel when he's young; that's how my grandfather came to Tyrador IX and settled here."

"It still won't work." Augustus's expression changed. "I cannot agree."

"I think Matt Horner is capable of enduring hardship," Raynor said at this moment. "I can arrange a job as an apprentice sailor for him on the Hyperion. He can learn from scratch, directly from the ship's commander, and at the same time catch up on his textbook knowledge. Once things settle down, we can send him to the university in Umojan."

Augustus silent for a long time before finally nodding reluctantly.

"If your parents agree," he emphasized, "You must calmly consider whether this is a rash, impulsive act, so as not to regret it later."

"That's great!" Matt Horner exclaimed, beaming with delight.

At that moment, gunshots rang out from outside the restaurant.
