Overthrow the Confederacy and Get Married
This is a star-rated hotel located on the Emerald Sea coast of New Canaan, with more than a dozen warm white rectangular buildings surrounding the golden sandy beach.
Each of the three-story hotel buildings is independent, with the main structure supported by 100-foot-high alloy columns. Guests can enjoy views of the world-famous turquoise ocean from the Tyrador IX through the large, long glass windows facing the ocean.
Augustus pulled his hands away from Kerrigan's warm embrace, spread the blankets, and got off the hardwood bed covered with soft silk. Augustus first went to the bathroom to take a luxurious hot bath before returning to the bedroom.
As Augustus put on his new shirt and black square-necked trousers, the room's climate control system started working, emitting a barely audible fan noise.
As always, Augustus would wake up at the same time every morning, a habit he had maintained ever since entering the Turaxis II recruit training camp. Augustus always the first to wake up, waking every one of his comrades from the Heaven's Devils.
Open the curtains of the window facing the ocean, and you'll see the warm sun of the Taradorn System hanging above the rippling emerald green sea. Thousands of white sailboats and floating markers drift on the jade-like surface, and whaling ships that have just left the harbor are heading into the distance.
--Due to local wildlife conservation policies, whalers here still hunt Taradorn pilot whales, narwhals, and a wide variety of other native giant marine creatures using methods dating back centuries. Otherwise, these amazing and beautiful species would have been driven to extinction by humans in a very short time, just as this ever-expanding race in the Milky Way Galaxy has done to the many planets they colonize.
As sunlight streamed onto the wrinkled sheets, the long, fiery red hair buried deep in the blankets stirred, letting out a seductive, cat-like moan.
As Augustus turned to look at the wriggling blankets, he couldn't help but recall everything that had happened that night.
A gentle smile appeared on Augustus's lips as he walked towards Kerrigan across the wooden floor.
The curvaceous redhead lay curled up in bed, reaching out to touch the pillow beside her, but finding nothing. A tremor, like lightning, coursed through Kerrigan's body; she remained unconscious, yet began to weep in her sleep.
Knowing Kerrigan, Augustus believed she was experiencing a terrible nightmare, a nightmare filled with scenes from her childhood and the Ghost Academy, where those who died at her hands haunted her like ghosts from the past. It was hard to imagine whether such torment would drive this strong woman mad, given that she had killed millions of people.
Filled with remorse, Augustus cradled the weeping Kerrigan in his arms and began to kiss her, stroking her smooth back.
Few know the vulnerability hidden beneath Kerrigan's cold, iron mask; she still cries like an ordinary person. But the Terran Confederacy never cares. They only relentlessly force a high-level Psionics, who suffers immense pain after killing, to kill again and again, erasing these memories deeply imprinted in her cerebral cortex.
Augustus's significance to Kerrigan was far more than just that of a leader worthy of loyalty and following. When Kerrigan was killing for the Confederacy as a ruthless killing machine, only Augustus reached out to her, helping her readjust to life as a "normal" person.
Even now, Kerrigan still can't understand why Augustus would keep a highly unstable advanced Psionics by his side. She can only attribute it to his admirable magnanimity and broad-mindedness, which is why so many people with outstanding talents are willing to follow him.
That's why Kerrigan fell in love with Augustus without reservation, and she believed that this charming man should have the same attraction for other women.
Her past experiences inflicted unimaginable trauma on Kerrigan; she had lost her entire family. Upon arriving at the Ghost Academy, the instructors would use each academy's favorite pet or a last memento left by a family member to coerce the Psionics into obeying orders.
In the early stages of Ghost Program, in order to make Psionics obey orders, the academy's instructors did not hesitate to use all means of violence and intrigue to control their academy, and even used drugs.
This is also why Kerrigan joined the Revolutionary Army immediately after being rescued; she desperately needed an ideal or goal to sustain her and help her continue living.
Kerrigan has almost never truly owned anything; everything that should have belonged to her has been destroyed or forcibly taken away. Since coming to Augustus's side, Kerrigan's life has been completely different from her past cold-blooded assassin career, so she is even more afraid of losing Augustus.
"What did you dream about?" Augustus smoothed Kerrigan red hair and kissed her forehead and fiery lips.
"I dreamt that I lost you," Kerrigan said. "They dragged me away from you, and I could no longer see you or the light. I was plunged into darkness once more."
"What are they?" Augustus pressed his face against Kerrigan's burning cheek. "The Confederacy? Zerg or Protoss? Don't be afraid, I'm right here with you, forever and ever, until the end of time, until the end of the world."
"I don't know, they are endless shadows," Kerrigan sobbed.
"Never." Augustus held Kerrigan in his arms, promising her tenderly, in the name of God, in the name of Jesus, in the name that could calm Kerrigan down. "I will never abandon you, Sarah. No one can take you from me, no one. Whatever the enemy may be, they can never take you away."
"How could this be?" Kerrigan to Augustus. "I love you, Augustus."
"I love you too." Augustus reassured Kerrigan, describing a bright future to her in a very calm tone. "When we overthrow the tyranny of the Confederacy and establish a system based on love and equality, we will get married."
"The wedding will be held in the cathedral in Tarsonis, under the stained glass windows... there will be millions of flowers, and all the Terrans will bless our union," he said.
"We will have several children, from whom I will choose my Heir."
"I hope I'm not just one of your many wives." Kerrigan had stopped crying and regained her composure. She had always been quite confident in Augustus's charm and suspected that once this man started to indulge himself, there would be plenty of wanton and unscrupulous women vying to be his mistress.
"I don't need that much," Augustus.
For the rest of the time, Augustus enjoyed Kerrigan's coquettishness and charm, a rare treat. They kissed passionately, feeling each other's warmth, until Kerrigan got up to put on her clothes.
Kerrigan didn't avoid Augustus's gaze, but only then did she realize that the long black evening gown she had taken off the night before was completely unwearable. Some of the fabric had been torn to shreds by Augustus.
"What should we do?" Kerrigan held the torn black gloves, her expression one of regret. "These were very expensive."
"The new dress has been prepared long ago." Augustus picked up his personal terminal, which had been reinforced by the Revolutionary Army's technicians. "Faraday, bring out the new dress."
Kerrigan's extraordinary hearing allowed her to hear Corporal Faraday line solemnly assuring Augustus that he would transport it as easily as a nuclear weapon, perhaps because the latter still stubbornly believed that everything the Revolutionary Army Marshal ordered him to do was for the purpose of advancing further in this great revolutionary journey.
"But that's the most expensive thing you've ever given me," Kerrigan Augustus.
"I'll send you a few more." Augustus knew the cunning meaning behind Kerrigan, now that she had just become a woman.
"I thought you might be in bed for a while longer." Augustus admired Kerrigan's beautiful body, her perfect abs, and her stunningly long, shapely legs.
The wonderful memories of last night flooded Augustus's mind once again—the powerful, muscular legs that wrapped around his waist, legs capable of easily breaking a Marine's neck or snapping their throat.
Kerrigan undoubtedly the most dangerous woman Augustus met, and this danger was in many ways.
"Okay." Kerrigan went to take a shower with a sense of relief. Judging from Kerrigan's teasing gaze, she seemed quite eager for something to happen between her and Augustus in the bathroom.
Augustus waited at the door for the person who came to deliver the dress, but it wasn't Faraday who came; instead, it was Mira Han with a playful smile on her face.
"How are you feeling?" Mira, with her pink ponytail, put her hands in the two pockets behind her black leather pants and blinked.
"What do you mean?" Augustus asked with a smile as he took a new long dress and coat from Mira's hands.
"Of course, it's the feeling of conquering a red-haired woman." Mira knew quite a bit.
"This is not a conquest, Mira," Augustus said to Mira.
"But I will remember that night forever, I will never forget it."
"But you look rather weak," Mira said. "I've heard that Tychus Findlay can fight eight people without even breaking a sweat."
"Livestock cannot be compared to humans," Augustus. "And you don't know how amazing Kerrigan is; she hardly gets tired. Kerrigan to twenty women."
"Maybe she just wants you to be so tired that you won't want to touch any other women," Mira chuckled.
"Did you use contraception?" she asked, as usual, with a surprising question.
"No," Augustus said frankly. "I hope Kerrigan can conceive my child."
"That sounds so erotic." Mira covered her mouth in surprise.
"A little." Augustus shrugged.
"Speaking of which, what hair color should all those kids have? Judging from Valerian's blond hair, the Mengsk Family's gray hair might not be a dominant gene. Your whole family will have to be dyed red or blonde or something," Mira said.
"Furthermore, Psionics talent is hereditary; the descendants of a high-level Psionics are almost certainly Psionics themselves. The Mengsk Family has never had Psionics —which also means that the future ruler of the Mengsk dynasty will be a Psionics."
"..." Augustus had a lot of complaints stuck in his throat, unable to express them. Sometimes he simply couldn't understand Mira's bizarre thought process.
"I want to establish a republic, not some Mengsk dynasty." He then turned to a more serious question, "Are you the only one who thinks this way, or has this idea already spread throughout our revolutionary ranks?"
"Ah, only a few of us think that way. Londerstein believes that once you overthrow the Confederacy and establish a new regime, you will not be able to relinquish power to the parliament. The power of the new government will be concentrated in your hands and a few others. And Harnack just wants you to be emperor so that you can directly appoint him as marshal," Mira said.
"But what are your thoughts?"
"Did you ask this question out of curiosity, or for some other reason, or was someone instructing you to do so?" Augustus did not answer the question directly. For a long time, he had been advocating republicanism, and there was no indication that he would become a dictator in the future.
"I was just asking casually, and I don't expect any answers from you." Behind Mira's carefree personality lies a quick-witted and intelligent mind and a profound heart; she sees things much more clearly than many self-proclaimed smart people.
"Then I will tell you, I have never wanted to be an emperor or a dictator," Augustus. "If the new Terran Republic no longer needs me, then I will retire to my hometown."
"How could that be? The world would stop without you, and the sun would never set or rise again." The most enigmatic thing about Mira is that you never know which of her words is a joke.
"I'm not being sarcastic, I'm serious."
"Is there anything else you want to say?" Augustus waited for a while, and seeing that Mira hadn't left, he realized that she must still have something to tell him.
"Did I disturb you?" Mira asked.
"No." Augustus glanced back.
"Go ahead and say it."
"Our people in the Sara System sent back news over a month ago that the Sara, a sister star of Mar Sara, had discovered Zerg. It's an unrecorded race, and their numbers are enormous. Currently, the Confederacy forces in Sara are actually engaged in combat with the Zerg — the Confederacy has blocked the news, and all press releases from the Sara System are not being issued, so the Confederacy's people are still unaware of what's happening," Mira Augustus.
"How could this be?" Augustus recalled the scene at the Cerberus Polar Research Station in Umojan and realized that the Overmind of the Swarm had been drawn to Kerrigan and had set its sights on the Koprulu Sector. Human genes did not hold much appeal for the Overmind of the Swarm, but Kerrigan was different.
Although humanity encountered the Zerg long before the true Swarm invasion in 2499, the Koprulu Sector Sara incident also means that the Swarm disaster may have occurred at least four to five years earlier.
However, for the Revolutionary Army, which has always wanted to overthrow the Confederacy's rule, the chaos brought by the Zerg may not necessarily be a bad thing.
"They came too fast. I hope it's just a Zerg army."
Time is running out.
