"Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!"

As dusk fell, the evacuation of refugees in the capital region of Sara was still in full swing.

Under the gloomy twilight and amidst the red dust storm, hundreds of thousands of refugees who had been evacuated to the wilderness by the Confederacy were being escorted by the Revolutionary Army toward the Mar- Sara City Airport.

These refugees used every means of transportation they could get their hands on, including off-road vehicles, hovercrafts, and troop carriers provided by the Revolutionary Army, but most of them still had to rely on their own two feet to complete this incredibly arduous journey.

The refugees gathered on the red earth of Ma Sara, forming a dark, slowly moving mass, heading north along a highway towards the city of Ma Sara.

The sky grew increasingly dark, and even the sun seemed about to set. The journey of less than a mile from the wilderness to the city of Ma Sara now seemed unusually long.

In the distance lies the city of Sara, its lights twinkling, with the airport in its center already brightly lit, and bright spots of light rising from it from time to time.

In the eyes of the refugees, the light emanating from the Starport control tower was their only hope.

Clad in deep red CMC Power Armor, Revolutionary Army soldiers mingled among the running crowd. They carried exhausted elderly, women, and children on their backs, and shouldered medical kits and supplies. Their tall figures stood out as indestructible Giant in the crowd.

In the Confederacy's propaganda, these soldiers, whose armor bore the white whip-ring insignia, were portrayed as ruthless demons. Yet, it was precisely this group who brought hope to the desperate people of Sara. They were hailed as heroes by the Mar Sara people, but their actual ages were only between 18 and 24.

The refugees were dressed in dusty gray miner's overalls or thin shirts, their faces filled with sorrow and fear. More than a month earlier, the Confederacy Omega Squadron had forcibly moved them from their homes to a refugee camp in the wilderness without any prior notice.

The residents of various cities and towns in Mar- Sara believed that the rescue ship would arrive soon. In their haste, they set off with only their most valuable possessions, driven by the Omega Squadron.

When they arrived at the refugee camp, they discovered that apart from setting up a few tents for them, the Confederacy had provided no other supplies—including food, water, and clothing to keep warm in the cold, dark nights of Mar- Sara.

To prevent the Mar Sara people from using private communication devices to tell the outside world about their experiences in the Sara System, there were naturally no communication devices in the refugee camp.

Not only that, the Omega Squadron also deployed Marines and even Goliath Combat Robot to blockade various large refugee camps, preventing refugees from escaping their control.

The lack of food and clothing, coupled with hunger and cold, claimed the lives of many Mara Sara people on the first cold night. The initial casualties were entirely due to the evacuation measures implemented by the Terran Confederacy.

Thus, even before the Jormungand Brood had spread to all parts of Sara, a considerable number of Sara people had already died in extreme pain and despair.

In the end, no one could figure out whether the Terran Confederacy's rescue measures were saving lives or killing people. Or perhaps they were afraid the alien creatures weren't killing fast enough, so they drove everyone into the wilderness to face the Zerg and Protoss directly.

With the Confederacy Army as a foil, the Korhal Revolutionary Army, which came to the rescue of the Mara Sara people, naturally became the saviors in the eyes of mankind.

People looked at Augustus with reverence as they passed by, completely convinced of all the promises made by this broad-armed, gray-haired man. These Mara Sara people would undoubtedly become staunch supporters of Augustus's revolutionary cause in the future.

Revolutionary Army marshal who dares to command troops on the front lines is far more trustworthy than the generals of the Central Command of the Terran Confederacy.

"Hold on tight to your families and children, we're almost at Ma Sara Spaceport! Hold on, once everyone's on board, the spaceship will take off immediately and take us all out."

At this moment, Augustus stood among thousands of refugees, shouting as he did so, his cloak almost entirely covered in red sand. The refugees would split into two groups as they approached Augustus, only to rejoin him after he had passed Augustus.

Sarah Kerrigan wore a long, dark gray trench coat with a hood adorned with a golden wolf emblem. She carried a sniper rifle on her back and held a red battle flag bearing the Revolutionary Army's insignia, resembling a valiant red-haired Valkyrie.

"This is the last batch." After waving to the refugees to keep going, Augustus looked at Kerrigan beside her. "We must escort them to the airport."

"What about the latest reports from other regions?" he asked.

As per Augustus's plan, his various generals and the colonels of the Heaven's Devils were each responsible for a region of refugees. Augustus directed the evacuation of the capital region, which had the largest population.

"Aside from Duke's claim that he encountered a minor problem, the evacuation of refugees in other areas is proceeding smoothly," Kerrigan said. "A few hours ago, Duke's men discovered a group of Ma Sara miners trapped in the mine, so he personally led an Alpha Squadron assault team to rescue them."

"So it was an ambush by the Zerg?" Augustus had already guessed most of it.

"Yes, the Zerg discovered that whenever a human is trapped, their kin will do everything in their power to rescue them. The leader of the Jormungand Brood discovered this pattern and exploited it to set a trap," Kerrigan said.

"Duke's troops discovered hundreds of infected people and spider-like monsters after entering the tunnels, and fled the area after leaving behind hundreds of corpses."

"Have Duke write a detailed account of this defeat. All troops must read this report so that they may learn from it," Augustus.

Although the vast majority of soldiers in the Alpha Squadron were re-socialized criminals, even the lost equipment was enough to break Augustus's heart.

Moreover, although Resocialized Soldier lack abilities, unlike ordinary soldiers who become stiff with fear at the sight of alien creatures, even if Resocialized Soldier were to face more terrifying monsters, their hands holding guns would never tremble.

"This will embarrass Duke," Kerrigan said. "You know his personality; you know Duke cares most about honor and dignity—in other words, he loves to show off."

"That's good, so next time he'll at least think about the consequences before he acts impulsively," Augustus. Almost half of the negative examples the Revolutionary Army officers read came from Edmond Duke, which deeply humiliated Duke.

This led him to try even harder to prove himself. Fortunately, Duke's recent victory with the Norad III, which forced the Protoss Fleets to retreat, salvaged some of his reputation, earning Duke the titles of Lone Hero and Brave Ape within the Revolutionary Army.

"What about Governor Pulaier?" At that moment, a middle-aged woman in front of Augustus suddenly staggered, and he immediately caught her like lightning.

The blonde woman, who was nearly fainting, glanced at Augustus with an expression that seemed almost flattered, then averted her gaze in panic, trying with all her might to stand up again. But she was so exhausted that she could no longer stand.

"I am deeply sorry, Marshal, I'm so sorry." She was only wearing a pair of worn-out shoes, her feet covered in blisters.

"This isn't your fault, it's the Confederacy and the Zerg's fault," Augustus roared.

"Faraday! Take this lady away; she can't walk anymore."

"Sergeant Claire," Faraday, standing Augustus, immediately ordered one of his elite marshal's guards.

A tall soldier wearing deep red Power Armor with gold insignia on his shoulder armor immediately ran over and helped up the woman next to Augustus.

"It is my pleasure to serve you, Marshal," the soldier Augustus.

"Serving the people is true honor," Augustus replied to the soldier.

"Marshal Augustus, you are truly a hero. At the time, I thought you were traitors who were disrupting order," the woman Augustus after she was carried away.

"I made a mistake," she said.

"Let's go," Augustus said, patting the elite guard soldier on the shoulder.

After the soldier carried the woman away, Augustus looked back at the slowly moving crowd and felt countless eyes watching him, observing his every move.

The line behind Augustus still stretched as far as the eye could see; conservatively estimated, the number of refugees behind him might still be in the tens of thousands.

"Where are Governor Pulaier's men now?" Augustus asked Kerrigan. "He only has fewer than two thousand new recruits with him— Raynor ' men are with him, but I'm still not entirely at ease."

"In the last report, the Governor had already led his assault force into Jacob Base and rescued more than 500 Confederacy alien physiologists and Confederacy soldiers from Jacob Base —the Governor also ordered that backups of Jacob Base's weapons be obtained via a disk."

"What about the losses?" Augustus asked.

"Only a few were wounded. Governor Pulaier personally led the charge; I heard he single-handedly killed a giant, bright red Hydralisk, using its massive crest as decoration on his helmet," Kerrigan said. "Now the governor is leading his men back to defend Mar- Sara."

Augustus stunned for a long time.

Judging from the governor's appearance, he didn't seem like someone who was particularly capable in combat. Soon, Augustus told himself that he had made the mistake of judging a book by its cover.

"The governor is truly a capable and valiant general," he said. "Perhaps I should consider entrusting him with my most elite troops. I've already decided to give my Guard Division to Pulaier."

Did they gain anything?

Kerrigan moved closer to Augustus, just in case their conversation was overheard. "They found the same Psi Emitter blueprints at the Jacob Base as we found in Cha Sara, however, the Psi Emitter at the Jacob Base in Cha Sara is far more sophisticated, capable of projecting Psionics several light-years away."

The Psi Emitter remains a secret that must never be made public.

The Terran Confederacy originally planned to use Psi Emitter to lure the Zerg and eliminate their enemies, ultimately driving Zerg away and becoming the saviors. However, if people knew that such a weapon actually existed, they would not only doubt the Confederacy but also the Revolutionary Army, especially now that public opinion was completely controlled by the Confederacy.

Turning the tables and pinning one's own actions on the enemy is a common tactic of the Confederacy.

"This Psi Emitter has already achieved a true combat capability, which means that Confederacy scientists have made a breakthrough," Augustus. "A distance of several light-years is enough to influence the advance of an insect hive. In a sense, such a distance may be just right."

"What did Swann say? I just had someone deliver the prototype of the Psi Emitter to him not long ago," he asked Kerrigan.

"Swann and Kaczynski are still working on this new weapon," Kerrigan said. "They say it's given them a lot of inspiration; since Psi Emitter can emit Psionics, it should also be able to do other things by amplifying the intensity of Psionics."

"Dr. Francos discovered that the Zerg's higher units control their clan members through Psionics, and perhaps we can use this principle to disrupt this Psionics link, causing the Swarm's controllers to lose control over other Zerg."

"I think this is worth a try." Augustus's eyes lit up. "Swann, any progress?"

"Rory Swann said he was asking his old acquaintances in Meinhoff, Moria, and Umojan to bring him some blueprints for new weapons. He said he had some ideas, but it was too early to put them into practice."

"Alright. Where did Swann get so many old acquaintances?" Augustus shook his head.

"I believe he will succeed sooner or later."

"Swann is, after all, your most trusted engineer," Kerrigan said.

"No, I trust his old acquaintances more," Augustus.

"Zerg have appeared in the direction of White Stone Base. I am heading to provide support." As Augustus encouraged the refugees around him, the earpiece under his hat brim continued to transmit reports from various Revolutionary Army ground unit commanders.

The Revolutionary Army is spreading out in various divisions and brigades throughout Mar- Sara to cover the evacuation of refugees. Wherever there are people, even a small village forgotten by the Confederacy with only a dozen or so people, has received assistance from the Revolutionary Army.

"Where are my guards?" Augustus. "Faraday!"

As Augustus gave the order, a deafening roar suddenly erupted from behind the refugees. People could even feel the ground trembling beneath their feet, and in that direction, the ground began to sink deeper and deeper, soon revealing huge caves.

Swarms of Zergling and Hydralisk poured out of the burrows, overwhelming the slowly moving refugees. The rustling sounds and the swishing of sharp teeth and claws were chilling. The nearest Revolutionary Army scouts and a rearguard company were instantly overwhelmed, their dying roars and screams filling the communication channels.

"All the soldiers must immediately assemble before me and form a defensive line," Augustus.

Thousands of the Revolutionary Army soldiers clad in crimson Power Armor marched against the flow of people toward the rear of the refugee column, forming a defensive line. A dozen massive Goliath Combat Robot trudged heavily past the flanks of the crowd. Arclite Siege Tank were already in place, their cannons roaring.
