Viridia Prime
The Viridia Prime is a jewel in the Crown World of the Terran Confederacy. It is a prosperous and beautiful world with lush forests, majestic mountains and rivers, and a vast blue ocean.
From the ground to orbital habitation stations and satellites in outer space, these are dotted with highly modernized cities, filled with towering buildings and dazzling lights.
Vilityia boasts a comprehensive education system, sound infrastructure, and a thriving local intergalactic corporation, leading research institutions, and a developed tourism industry, which provide the vast majority of jobs. Vilityia a stable employment rate, and its happiness index among immigrant communities remains among the highest in the Terran Confederacy.
Just weeks earlier, an unprecedented riot swept across the entire Viridia Prime.
From large cities on the surface to rail-based residential stations, what began as strikes, school closures, and demonstrations quickly escalated into a terrifying armed uprising.
When young, passionate youths, university students, progressives, and workers led the storming of factories and government administration offices, a large number of police intervened in the riots, which within days escalated into a bloody clash between civilians and security forces.
People began throwing bombs at riot police and even Armored Vehicle, beating lone Confederacy police officers to death. Groups of unemployed people took advantage of the chaos to attack pedestrians, rob, and seize the property of the elite. The initially extremely restrained Vilityia security forces were forced to retaliate, exchanging fire with armed rioters in the city center and throughout the streets and alleys.
In just a few weeks, the riots in Vilityia had resulted in thousands of deaths and many more injuries, with some people being dragged into the streets and beaten simply for wearing Confederacy uniforms. By then, fanatical anti-government activists and radicals had gone berserk, while those who initially instigated the riots had disappeared without a trace.
During the period of the Earth United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Fleet's invasion, the Korhal rebels repeatedly captured several important outer worlds and key strategic locations. The incompetent government of Vilityia actually hoped that this riot could be quelled on its own, resulting in countless deaths and injuries and economic losses amounting to hundreds of billions.
The Viridia Prime is in ruins, with insurgents and security forces clashing in the streets. The city is ablaze, and order and the economy are rapidly collapsing.
In the end, even mobilizing the Federal Marine Corps was merely a belated attempt to salvage the situation.
Even in the third week since the riots broke out on the Viridia Prime, the unrest had not yet subsided.
On July 4, 2493, a large number of jump signals suddenly appeared in the starry sky of the Viridia System. Thousands of warships and spaceships emerged from the vortex of blue electric arcs, and fierce battles stretched from the synchronous orbit to the surface of the earth.
Who is the leader of the underground revolutionary organization in Vilityia?
Augustus was not on his flagship, the Hyperion, but was in a forest outside the Victoria District in the southern hemisphere of Vilityia. It was a forest of Giant, with eucalyptus trees that stood straight and tall, their canopies reaching the sky, the tallest reaching six hundred feet.
Amidst a cluster of rapidly constructed modular supply depots and satellite orbital stations, a majestic command center stands bathed in sunlight.
The sky resembled a pristine blue curtain, and the sunlight gilded the swirling clouds with a golden glow, creating a breathtaking scene.
"Karen Shaw, he attended the Korhal City Central University in Umojan. He is an excellent young man, meticulous in his work, and loyal and reliable." Kerrigan stood beside Augustus.
"I don't recall ever giving him any orders to incite riots in Vilityia." Augustus dressed in a neat, grass-gray military uniform, his Power Armor leaning against a supply rack beside him.
"That wasn't Shaw's doing. It was Khas Mezzo, the leader of a Confederacy resistance organization, who orchestrated uprisings in multiple locations, including Vilityia Starport and the Nelifah Administrative District," Kerrigan reported to Augustus.
"In Vilityia, there may be hundreds of thousands of followers of this man named Wanzo. Before we arrived, it was this organization that was fighting against the Confederacy of Vilityia."
"There are many such organizations in the Terran Confederacy, far more than the Confederate Congress knows, but most of them are second-rate organizations, mostly composed of social losers, anarchists, and other scoundrels." Arcturus was holding a set of binoculars, observing the distant main city of Vilityia.
Outside the capital's administrative district lies a vast expanse of hills and rivers, with elegant garden-style buildings encircled by beautiful gray walls. Spherical hydroponic farms constructed of white glass resemble a ring of jewels around the city's perimeter, much like pearls within an oyster shell.
The main city of Vilityia is a colossal metropolis constructed with glass curtain walls and a steel frame. Vast aerial train tracks resemble silver-gray halos encircling the city. High-speed maglev trains traverse the city, while giant screens display advertisements.
The city bears some resemblance to Sterling in Korhal, which inevitably adds a touch of melancholy to the usually aloof Arcturus.
In the distance, the roar of artillery thundered as long-range railguns and missiles streaked across the sky above the main city of Vilityia, like streaks of blue flowing along the horizon and the edge of the sky. Rows of fighter jets stood in formation like flocks of geese in the sky.
At this very moment, two hastily formed Revolutionary Army groups, commanded by Generals Pulaier and Duke, are advancing towards the main city of Vilityia.
The former was mainly a mixed force of the Sara Assault Division and the Antiga Marine Division, comprising six divisions and more than 80,000 men, while the latter led two divisions of Alpha, totaling about 30,000 men.
After the Battle of Noris VI, the heavily damaged Alpha Squadron was able to replenish its ranks with a large number of soldiers from the Noris Resocialization Plant. Alpha Squadron was mainly composed of Resocialized Soldier, and Duke preferred to lead Resocialized Soldier rather than Revolutionary Army officers who might disobey his orders.
Within the Revolutionary Army, only the Alpha Squadron and the Nova Squadron possess a large number of Resocialized Soldier, and their acceptance of such soldiers is noticeably higher.
"I've heard of Khas Vanzo; he's a well-known rebel leader." As the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Augustus also keeping an eye on potential allies and other Confederacy Resistance Army forces in the Koprulu Sector.
"Where is he?" he asked Kerrigan.
"Just over ten hours ago, Khas Vanzo appeared in public, urging the people of Vilityia not to give up the fight and vowing that victory was within reach." Kerrigan blinked her jade-green eyes.
Where are they now?
"This person has always been extremely cautious, disappearing completely every so often. It's said he also has a habit of using decoys to draw attention," Kerrigan replied. "The Terran Confederacy has been hunting him down for the past few years."
"Angelini, bring him to me." Augustus raised his head.
"I need more information to pinpoint his location." Angelini was also wearing a blue and white Ghost combat suit, his muscles beneath the tight-fitting suit as hard as steel. Unlike Kerrigan, Angelini wore a helmet equipped with advanced equipment such as a prosthetic eye and a leveling device, rather than goggles.
"I'm uploading to the microcomputer in your helmet. Target information and mission briefings are already displayed on your HUD," Kerrigan said immediately.
"Our agents and intelligence personnel on the Viridia Prime have been keeping a close eye on this person."
"I have a suggestion," Arcturus said at this moment. "Lieutenant Angelini, you can start by investigating from the main starport of Vilityia."
"That's a good idea," Angelini said before disappearing.
Sako Angelini has proven his abilities in numerous missions and emergencies. He is not only a powerful Psionics agent but also a leader with exceptional leadership skills. As a powerful Psionics who understands people's hearts, Angelini also knows how to gain the trust of his subordinates and command them to work for him.
It's worth mentioning that Angelini refused to kill for the Terran Confederacy, but was willing to serve Augustus faithfully. He was a lonely yet exceptionally proud man who only did what he believed was right.
"If this person were smart enough, he would have already made his escape." Arcturus gently twisted his neck.
"At this time, there are plenty of opportunists like him. If he truly wanted to save the people, why didn't he come and join us?"
"Don't overvalue the Revolutionary Army's name." Augustus disagreed. "There are plenty of people who want to go it alone, who think they're the ones who will ultimately overthrow the Confederacy, and I'm just a lucky nobody."
"I've watched Khas Vanzo's speeches and even read his books. But Vanzo gives me a sense of unreality," he said, turning to Arcturus.
"This man kept shouting and criticizing the Confederacy's atrocities, but he never told his followers what to do. He told people to confront the Confederacy with violence and achieve their goals through destruction, but after instigating riots, he disappeared without a trace."
"I want to see what kind of person he really is," he said.
"Augustus, the uprising led by Khas Vanzo was a complete disaster. Even if he really wanted to save and liberate the people of Vilityia, he must have been a complete fool." Since joining the Revolutionary Army, Arcturus, like Augustus, had come to like to describe the wars they had started as liberation.
"But look at what he did—incited hatred against the Confederacy and then did nothing, neither providing weapons nor giving the insurgents any military training, leaving them to fight against the Confederacy's Electromagnetic Rifle and steel armor. How could they possibly win?" he said.
"Did he even consider how many people he was about to kill? Without us, the uprising on the Viridia Prime would definitely have failed. Even Angus is a hundred times better than him."
"This doesn't sound like something you would say." Augustus knew that if he hadn't managed to save his family and the tens of millions of people in Korhal IV, Arcturus would have ended up doing the same thing as this Vanzo.
"Vilityia has always been ours; the locals have always had high support for the revolution." Arcturus had long considered Vilityia a planet under his rule. "Look what this fool has done; he's withdrawing money from my bank account."
"Heh." Augustus couldn't help but chuckle at Arcturus's words, then turned and sighed, "The Mar- Sara uprising has taught me many lessons."
At this moment, the sound of artillery fire from the main city of Vilityia became even more deafening. According to reports from the front lines, the Revolutionary Army had already entered the city. Once they captured this place, it would only be a matter of time before they conquered the entire Viridia Prime.
Khas Vanzo's uprising proved very useful, as rumors had circulated for weeks that the Revolutionary Army was about to reach Vilityia.
As one of the main planets of the Terran Confederacy, the defensive forces of the Viridia Prime are not weak. Augustus's Revolutionary Army also went through dozens of hours of hard fighting before landing on the surface of Vilityia. The combat power of the Vilityia Confederacy garrison is even comparable to that of Tarsonis ' elite troops.
The Viridia Prime is a core world that the Augustus must conquer. It is closer to the Brontes Prime and is located near the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Fleet's attack route. Tarsonis is just a few hundred light-years away.
In Vilityia, Augustus could closely monitor the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Fleet's every move and formulate timely strategies. And unless the UED commander had gone mad, he wouldn't attack the Revolutionary Army.
This time, once Augustus occupies Vilityia, he won't leave easily. The planet's economic level and numerous factories can provide the Revolutionary Army with weapons and supplies, and there is a large population to be conscripted.
However, the more advanced and wealthy core worlds within the Terran Confederacy don't really look forward to the arrival of the Revolutionary Army. If their world were to become the main battlefield in the war between the Revolutionary Army and the Confederacy Army, it's hard to guarantee that they wouldn't suffer the same fate as Korhal IV.
Vilityia is within the range of the Tarsonis nuclear deterrent.
"Pulaier's command post has entered the main city of Vilityia, and his troops are continuing their advance. The garrison of Vilityia is in retreat," Kerrigan Augustus at this moment. "Duke's men have also defeated two Confederacy divisions defending the city."
"This General Pulaier is truly a capable and valiant warrior," Arcturus said. "I heard he was originally the governor of Mar- Sara; I never imagined you would appoint a governor as a military commander."
"The governor is a rare talent, skilled in both literature and martial arts." Augustus thought to himself that in the Game, the only invincible human player character besides Governor Mar- Sara of the Terran Confederacy is the captain of the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Fleet.
