"This is exactly what I was hoping for." Raynor's eyes lit up.
Talandar connected to the Purifiers' data network once more. A moment later, he spoke again, but his voice had changed into another low, commanding one.
"I am Executor Korolariang," the voice said. "Who leads the human Terran Empire?"
"Sorry, our boss is on Korhal. He didn't come." Tychus stared at Talandar in amazement, pulling an Umojan cigar from his bulging uniform pocket. He thought that the Purifiers' oversized mobile phone function was damn convenient. "You can talk to us boys. Our word counts. No need to stand on ceremony—we're all brothers here."
"."
"Honored Executor Korolariang, I am Marshal James Raynor." Raynor saw that Tychus, who was about to call an ancient Protoss hero his buddy, was about to kill the conversation. "Emperor Augustus has granted me full authority to negotiate with the Purifier Protoss and pursue an alliance. Here, I represent the Emperor himself."
"Marshal James Raynor, Fenix Talandar has already told us of your intentions." Talandar's eyes turned toward Raynor, while Executor Korolariang—and indeed all the Purifier Protoss—were watching through his perspective.
"Even so, there is much we do not understand." Korolariang's words came through a translation device. The distinctive ancient Protoss language became difficult and archaic in human speech, almost like an old tongue. "We know neither this era nor humanity, and we cannot understand why you wish to ally yourselves with the Purifiers. Therefore, we wish to receive answers from humanity before making a decision."
To Raynor, the Purifiers were unexpectedly easy to talk to. By contrast, they were anything but polite to their fellow Protoss.
As one of the greatest heroes in the history of the Protoss Empire, Korolariang had to be a legend like Adun—possessing both exceptional military talent and noble character.
