Seeing the conversation veer in an unexpected direction, Knox promptly cut it off. Still, their earlier discussion about real-time strategy games was not without merit.

After all, real-time strategy games had been developed to simulate all kinds of wartime scenarios, and many of their tactics had evolved from real-world strategies. There was nothing impossible about adapting tactics from games back into reality, either.

The so-called tower-spam strategy was a method used when one's forces were at a disadvantage early on: build large numbers of defensive fortifications to protect other structures and support units.

Though this hedgehog-like style lacked offensive power, it had its own unique advantages. It artificially created a terrain advantage and dragged things out until one's own forces gained the upper hand.

Strictly speaking, however, this tactic had not originated in games. Records of it had existed since the ancient eras of the various races, back when wars were still fought within individual planets. But regardless of where it came from, judging by the current situation, it did bear a slight resemblance to what the Zerg were doing.

"Maybe we should report this speculation."

"You don't seriously think your brain is better than those Staff Officers who specialize in strategy, do you? Anything you can think of, they probably thought of eight hundred years ago."

"Hmph. If they were really as impressive as you say, we wouldn't be sitting here rambling about this nonsense. Besides, they're working from secondhand intelligence. How could their conclusions be more accurate than deductions made by us on the front lines?"

Knox nodded, indicating that he agreed with both sides. But in the end, he still lowered his head, drafted a message, and sent it out.

"Honestly, if—just if—the Zerg really have some trump card that destroys our warships, what do we do?"
