Sure enough, things had unfolded exactly as Knox had guessed. Kari had accidentally discovered a Sonic Denial Cannon piled in a corner of the armory. It was the sort of weapon that was rarely used even in normal times, so it was only natural that no one had thought of it.

Although the small Sonic Denial Cannon was classified as an individual weapon, it clearly had not been designed for a Z2 spider-shaped robot. The massive cannon hanging from its body looked rather comical.

After offering Kari verbal praise, Knox piloted the humanoid robot forward, slid the Gauss Launcher in his hand into the gun slot on its back, and then picked up the Sonic Denial Cannon.

The cannon was over three meters long, nearly as tall as the humanoid robot itself. It was still an enormous weapon in its hands, but it looked far more fitting than it had on the spider robot.

The Z-R-2 humanoid robot Knox controlled was a compatible model for the Sonic Denial Cannon. Once it had the weapon in hand, specialized clamps locked the massive cannon securely into place.

"Wow, that looks awesome!" Kari said enviously from the side. Unfortunately, his piloting experience and rank were not yet sufficient to qualify him for a Z-R-2 humanoid robot.

Knox nodded to his team members. Their long-standing coordination meant they immediately understood. Nascito walked at the front with his enormous shield raised, Knox followed behind him, and the other models trailed at the rear, providing the team with a broader field of vision.

Before long, the squad advanced down another passage. This area had not yet been inspected. Nascito blocked the hatchway, planted his enormous shield on the ground, and then shifted aside by half a step.
