Traveling several times faster than the poison pellets fired by flying cannon bugs, the hardness Electromagnetic Projectile required to maintain such extreme speed in the air resistance of a living planet was easy to imagine.

With a thunderous explosion, the Epoch Clan gunboat was blasted into pieces. Its own hull had been extremely hard, intercepting the Electromagnetic Projectile; otherwise, it would simply have been punched straight through.

However, the Epoch Clan soldiers aboard the gunboat probably did not consider that a good thing. If the gunboat had merely been pierced through, they might have had a chance of surviving. Now that it had been blown to fragments, their chances of survival were extremely low.

There were two reasons Electromagnetic Cannons had been phased out of space warfare. The first was their speed. The second was that in mid- to high-level civilizations, deflection fields were standard equipment on large warships. Originally used to clear small obstacles ahead during near-light-speed travel, these devices were also highly effective against Electromagnetic Cannons.

Deflection field generators were usually enormous and cumbersome, which was why they were only installed on warships. But as mentioned before, this operation was of critical importance to the Epoch Clan. They had studied and developed counters for every method used by the Zerg.

Although they had not paid much attention to it before, the Epoch Clan was still the Epoch Clan. In a short period of time, they had miniaturized the deflection field generator. Though it still could not be equipped on individual soldiers, they had successfully installed the system on gunboats.

Therefore, this round of Electromagnetic Cannon strikes from the Boar Behemoths achieved less-than-ideal results aside from taking out a few slow-reacting fools.

Seeing the Epoch Clan gunboats activate their deflection fields, the Boar Behemoths did not continue wasting effort.
