"Anbu?"
Seeing his mother, Minako, hurriedly push open the bedroom door, Uchiha Yue raised his eyebrows slightly, wondering to himself why the Anbu would come looking for him.
In his previous life, while watching the original story, Uchiha Yue had always felt that the Anbu were nothing more than cannon fodder, killed off shortly after their appearance. However, after truly transmigrating into the world of Naruto, especially during a time of war, he realized just how terrifying the reputation of the Anbu was within Konoha.
The Anbu Tactical Black Ops, or simply Anbu!
After the Second Hokage succeeded to power in Konoha, he established this special unit to alleviate the crises faced by the village during the ninja wars. When first formed, the Anbu's primary duties were to protect the village's "Kage" and prevent foreign invasions. But as the wars dragged on, their workload increased; they were not only tasked with scouting enemy intelligence in harsh environments but also carrying out assassinations and hunting down rogue ninjas.
Konoha's success in establishing the Anbu provided a distinct advantage in the wars, leading other villages to follow suit.
Furthermore, to ensure the Anbu could execute such difficult missions, the criteria for selection were extremely strict. They had to screen for the most outstanding ninjas in the village and put them through specialized, systematic training. Additionally, because their missions were highly classified, even the identities of Anbu members were kept secret. They wore special masks during operations and referred to one another only by code names.
Initially, the power of the Anbu was held tightly in the hands of the village's "Kage," as such a special force in the wrong hands could easily trigger a coup. However, during the early days of the Third Hokage's reign, the political situation in Konoha was somewhat chaotic. To consolidate his own position, the Third Hokage divided the authority over the Anbu, handing parts of it to the Council of Elders and other powerful figures within the village.
At this moment, seeing the Anbu show up at his doorstep in person, it would be impossible for Uchiha Yue not to feel a hint of tension.
However, when he saw the panicked expression on his mother Minako's face, he immediately forced himself to calm down. To keep her from worrying, Uchiha Yue smiled and comforted her: "Mother, I don't think the Anbu have any malicious intent. Yesterday, my master mentioned she would send some of her Anbu to guide my training. The person outside is likely here for that, so you don't need to worry."
"Phew. So that's it."
In Konoha, having the Anbu show up at your door was like the police calling someone in for questioning in his previous life, so it was no wonder Minako was so nervous. But upon hearing Uchiha Yue's reassurance, the tension in her heart eased. She stepped forward, gently stroked his hair, and smiled: "Yue, when you train with Tsunade, you must follow her arrangements, understand? You are about to graduate from the Ninja Academy and become a real ninja; you must not be as willful as you were before."
As she spoke, a doting smile appeared on Minako's face, and she continued: "Our Yue is so talented, and with a powerhouse like Tsunade guiding you, you will surely become an excellent ninja. Once you become a strong figure in the village, perhaps you will be the one protecting me, instead of me protecting you. So, you must train hard, Yue!"
"Yes! I will train hard!"
At these words, Uchiha Yue's eyes filled with determination as he nodded heavily at his mother.
Because the Anbu was still waiting in the living room, Uchiha Yue didn't linger in the room with Minako. After offering a few more words of comfort, he went to the living room alone, where he found a ninja dressed in the standard Konoha Anbu attire sitting there.
"Hmm? A strange feeling..."
The moment Uchiha Yue saw the Anbu, a very odd sensation stirred in his heart, making him feel as though he recognized the person before him. Undoubtedly, as a student at the Ninja Academy, it was impossible for him to know an Anbu member; they were simply on different levels.
The sense of familiarity the Anbu gave him made Uchiha Yue instantly wary.
Seeing that Uchiha Yue had finally arrived, the Anbu went straight to business, stating coldly: "You are Uchiha Yue, correct?"
"That's right, I am Uchiha Yue."
"Good, come with me!"
Perhaps due to the nature of the work, the Anbu's personality seemed somewhat cold, and he prepared to take Uchiha Yue away immediately.
Uchiha Yue nodded slightly at the command, ready to follow and see which big shot in Konoha was summoning him.
However, as he followed the Anbu through Konoha, he realized they were heading away from the residential area. Seeing the direction they were taking toward the village's training grounds, Uchiha Yue grew even more confused.
Who on earth wants to see me? Why go all the way to the training grounds?
Could it be... is this person really sent by Tsunade to test my progress?
Filled with confusion, Uchiha Yue followed behind the Anbu, treading carefully.
But...
When they finally arrived at the training grounds, Uchiha Yue noticed that there was no one else around except for the two of them, and a cold sneer curled his lips. Without a moment's hesitation, he reached into his ninja tool pouch, pulled out six kunai, and instantly hurled them at the Anbu!
"Whoosh... whoosh..."
After long periods of practice, Uchiha Yue's throwing technique was formidable. The six kunai carved beautiful arcs through the air, instantly sealing off all of the Anbu's escape routes. Yet, the gap in strength between them was too vast; as the kunai closed in, the Anbu simply drew his own blade, parried a few times, and completely neutralized the attack.
However, when Uchiha Yue saw his attack so easily deflected, no look of surprise appeared on his face.
At this moment, Uchiha Yue stared intently at the Anbu, his eyes narrowing slightly as he asked in a cold voice:
"You are not an Anbu member."
"Who exactly are you!"
