Senju Nawaki

On August 9, Year 20 of Konoha, a loud baby's cry rang out in the Senju Clan residence. The Senju Clan had welcomed a new member at last, a brand-new little life.

Shen Shu felt utterly devastated. He had discovered that he had somehow become a baby, held in the arms of a red-haired woman. He thought she looked very familiar.

Looking at the furnishings around him, the clothes worn by the people in the room, and the language he couldn't understand at all, he knew he must have been transmigrated!

In his previous life, Shen Shu had been an older single man from China who spent all his time at home. As for his memories before transmigrating, he only remembered that he had been fiddling with a strangely shaped wooden carving that looked like a seed while watching the Naruto anime and reminiscing about his lost youth. He knew that this gentle woman before him must be his mother in this life. Seeing how exhausted she looked, Shen Shu managed a smile to comfort her.

At his smile, the woman's eyes filled with tender delight. She gently stroked his cheek with her index finger, then said something softly.

Only later did Shen Shu learn that his mother had said, "Nawaki, I hope you can live happily, always with a smile."

It was the first thing she ever said to Nawaki—and the last.

After saying it, she gave a few instructions to the golden-haired girl of about ten who was standing by the bed. Then she closed her eyes forever and stopped breathing.

Shen Shu had thought she was merely tired and had fallen asleep. It was only when the golden-haired girl began sobbing softly and then broke into loud wails that he realized his mother in this life—the woman who had just touched his heart with her gentle maternal love—had left him forever. Shen Shu, who had only just managed to calm down, could no longer contain his grief and began wailing.

The golden-haired girl heard her little brother crying. With tears streaming down her face, she clumsily picked him up and gently rubbed his back, but neither sibling could ease the pain in their hearts. The two figures, one large and one small, wept without restraint, letting their emotions pour out.

The red-haired woman beside them couldn't bear to watch the siblings sobbing. She turned away, two streams of tears running from the corners of her eyes and meeting at her chin before falling to the floor like raindrops.

In October of Year 21, a tiny figure gazed at his reflection in the mirror and murmured, "I really do look a lot like Naruto! No, wait! Naruto looks like me! I'm more than twenty years older than him!"

This exquisitely adorable little boy was Shen Shu, who had transmigrated from Earth. A year after arriving in this world, he had already learned its language and figured out exactly where he was.

This was the world of the Naruto anime he had been watching before he transmigrated. The red-haired woman he had seen when he was born was his grandmother, Mito Uzumaki, and the golden-haired girl was his biological older sister, Tsunade, one of the future Sannin and the Fifth Hokage!

As the only male heir of the Senju Clan's direct line, he had shouldered the responsibility of restoring the clan from the moment he was born.

Nawaki didn't care about the so-called Will of Fire at all. He only wanted to fulfill his mother's dying wish and live happily with a smile.

It also contained vitality, allowing it to grow, sprout, and become a spiritual root again. When his soul transmigrated, the treasure had completely merged with Nawaki's soul, making Nawaki its sole master.

As a fusion of an Innate Spiritual Root and a spiritual treasure, the Seed of the Divine Tree had inherited not only Jianmu's ability to grow but also the Jade Plate of Creation's power to create.

The Jade Plate of Creation was a supreme treasure born from the evolution of the Great Dao. It could evolve all things under heaven, along with the Three Thousand Great Daos.

Having inherited its power of creation, the Seed of the Divine Tree could evolve different things and laws as long as it absorbed enough Wish Power, accomplishing all kinds of incredible feats.

However, because its fragments were too incomplete, all the laws within it had vanished. To evolve anything, it needed a real-world object as a template, which the Seed of the Divine Tree would scan and analyze before it could do so.

For example, if Nawaki wanted to create a handgun, steel first had to exist in this world. He also needed to know the handgun's exact design—or simply use a real handgun as a template and let the Seed of the Divine Tree analyze it. Only then could the gun be manifested and replicated.

In short, anything that didn't exist—or that Nawaki himself didn't understand—couldn't be manifested out of thin air. No amount of Wish Power could change that.

For example, Nawaki could now use himself as a template and spend Wish Power to manifest the bloodlines of the Senju and Uzumaki Clans and grant them to someone else.

But he couldn't manifest the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai for himself. He first needed to obtain cells or blood from Hashirama Senju. Only after the Seed of the Divine Tree analyzed them and obtained a suitable template could it manifest the ability.

Likewise, if he wanted to learn a certain ninjutsu, he first had to see someone use it or obtain its training method. Then, after the Seed of the Divine Tree scanned and analyzed it, he could spend Wish Power to exchange for it and immediately master its use.

In general, although there were some restrictions, as long as Nawaki had enough time and Wish Power, one day he could learn every ninjutsu in the world and obtain every Kekkei Genkai!

So, what was Wish Power, and how could he obtain it?

As the saying went, all things in heaven and earth were created by the mind. Wish Power was born from the thoughts of living beings. With enough of it, one could use the power of creation to accomplish all kinds of incredible feats.

The thoughts and wishes people had in their daily lives all counted as Wish Power, but it was too scattered to be used.

As the Seed of the Divine Tree's master, Nawaki could absorb and use any Wish Power generated because of him, whether it came from love or hatred, worship or contempt, even jealousy, annoyance, or fear. Any intense emotion directed at him could be used.

In other words, if he gained enough renown in the Shinobi World, he could quickly and continuously obtain Wish Power!

After a year of repeated experiments, Nawaki had come up with a way to measure the amount of Wish Power he had.

According to his tests, manifesting any substances of the same mass consumed the same amount of Wish Power, whether it was sand or gold.

So, he set the amount of Wish Power needed to manifest one gram of matter as a basic unit and called it one point of Wish Power. In other words, every point of Wish Power could manifest one gram of any known substance.

He set the unit for measuring how quickly Wish Power was generated as renown. Every point of renown generated one point of Wish Power per day.

As the young heir of the Senju Clan, Nawaki carried the hopes of both the Senju Clan and Konoha because of his status. So, he had attracted attention from many quarters since birth. Although he hadn't deliberately done anything to increase his renown, many people had heard his name.

His status could be called an innate advantage, and it had given him ten points of initial renown. Over the course of a year, he had accumulated more than 3,600 points of Wish Power thanks to that initial renown. Mito and Tsunade's affection for him—their bond with him—had already reached its maximum, so each of them also provided him with ten points of Wish Power a day.
