After joining the Consortium, Asada was very satisfied with his freedom. He could drink and feast every day without having to take on dangerous missions or follow the strict rules of a hidden village. He had no desire to join a village and return to that heavily regulated life. Besides, he was a man who valued loyalty and wouldn't easily betray the Consortium that had sheltered him.
Zhixin knew exactly what was on his mind, so he tried to persuade him. "Asada, I know you don't like being restricted, but being a bandit gets you nowhere. The Konoha lords have already set their sights on the Consortium. We're no match for them! Besides, don't we still take orders from others in the Consortium? I'm telling you, abandon the darkness and embrace the light. Join me in serving the Senju Clan!"
Asada spat at Zhixin. "Pah! I'm a man who values loyalty above all! I'd never surrender, even if it killed me!"
After saying that, Asada pulled out a kunai, ready to fight to the death. But suddenly, his whole body went limp, and he couldn't even hold on to the kunai.
"You drugged my drink!" Asada pointed at Zhixin, drenched in sweat, and demanded an explanation.
Zhixin smiled. "I knew you were stubborn, and I was afraid you'd do something rash, so I put some medicine in your drink! Don't worry. It'll only weaken you temporarily and won't harm your body!"
"Hmph! Even so, I won't surrender. If you've got the guts, kill me!" It seemed Asada had some backbone after all.
Zhixin replied without concern, "Sometimes living is more painful than dying. I'm sure you'll soon decide to join the Senju Clan. Clan head, I hope you can talk some sense into him."
