Most of the Yuki Clan head's analysis was correct. Nawaki's original plan had been to launch a direct surprise attack on the Mist Ninja army, deal them a devastating blow in one stroke, then coordinate with Orochimaru's 150,000 troops to attack from both front and rear while forcing them to surrender.
However, after the unexpected incident at Konoha Headquarters, Nawaki changed his mind. He decided to first try persuading them to surrender directly. If the persuasion succeeded, not only could they avoid heavy casualties, but they could also save a great deal of time.
In truth, Nawaki had long set his sights on the clan-affiliated Mist Ninja and had devised a complete plan to subdue them. However, he knew that to make those unruly clans submit, he had to leave them with absolutely no way out. Otherwise, so long as even the slightest hope remained, they would never yield.
Originally, Nawaki's only option had been to force them into submission with overwhelming military power. But now, he had a better bargaining chip—one that could threaten the very foundations of those clans. He was not afraid that they would refuse to comply.
After Nawaki's army landed, he immediately sent someone to propose talks to the Mist Ninja. To show his sincerity, Nawaki stated that he could personally go alone to the Mist Ninja camp for negotiations.
After receiving Konoha's request for talks, the Mist Ninja higher-ups quickly gave an affirmative reply. If Nawaki had demanded that both sides' leaders negotiate before the battle lines, they would have feared that Konoha was plotting something and sternly refused. But now, Skywalker had asked to come alone to their main camp to negotiate. If they still refused, it would mean that their army of eighty thousand lacked even the courage to face Skywalker alone.
