After recovering from their initial shock and hearing Naruto's explanation, Jiraiya steadied himself and said, "So this creature in front of us, this Dragon, isn't a true dragon of legend yet. But it's already close to becoming one, and its strength is still far beyond what we can handle. Does anyone have a good way to get past it?"
Kakashi thought for a moment, then said, "How about I try killing it with Kamui?"
"That probably won't work," Naruto replied. "Kamui can distort space, even tear it open, but a Dragon's powerful body can withstand that. Space in this world is too fragile to do it any real harm. Unless we can knock it into spatial turbulence, it'll be useless. And I doubt even Amaterasu would have much effect on it."
"Naruto, do you have any better ideas?" Jiraiya asked.
Naruto shook his head. "No. All I can think of is avoiding a head-on confrontation, but that clearly isn't possible. This Dragon is obviously guarding the entrance. We have to find a way past it."
"Then we'll have to take it on," Jiraiya said regretfully. "In that case, we really can't let those two Iwagakure ninja die. Naruto, find an opening to rescue them, then we'll retreat for now. We can work out a plan once we're back on shore."
Naruto nodded and turned his attention to the battle on the water. Kitsuchi and Kurotsuchi formed hand seals together. "Earth Style: Opening Earth Rising Excavation!" An enormous rock thrust up from the lakebed, lifting the Dragon straight out of the water.
Kurotsuchi seized the chance to form hand seals. "Lava Release: Red Flame Thousand Miles!" Vast quantities of lava poured from her mouth, engulfing the Dragon.
Kitsuchi also took the opportunity to form hand seals. "Earth Style: Mountain Earth Technique!"
