Background / History

Hinata first meets Naruto while being bullied by several children. Naruto drives them away with Wind Release: Great Breakthrough and helps her up; she is struck by the contrast between the villagers calling him a “monster” and the gentleness he shows her. 4

At the Ninja Academy, Hinata becomes part of Naruto and Sasuke’s regular training group. Although initially intimidated by the boys’ sparring, she resolves not to fall behind them. Her Byakugan grants her exceptional chakra control, allowing her to immediately master both tree-walking and water-walking. 8 9

Hinata openly defends Naruto when classmates insult him as a monster, despite becoming a target of their prejudice herself. 11 She later joins Naruto and their friends in befriending Yota, and mourns alongside them when Yota must be sealed away. 15 16
