Konan looked at the Mangekyō Sharingan in Nagato's hand and asked doubtfully, "Are you planning to transplant that eye into your right socket?"
Nagato nodded. "Yes, that's what I have in mind. I also obtained some intelligence from Konoha. Given that this eye came from Obito Uchiha, I'd venture to guess that it's very likely the Mangekyō Sharingan of Konoha's prodigy, Shisui Uchiha. If it really is Shisui's eye, my strength might not drop by much. It might even make up for some of my shortcomings."
Konan had heard a little about Shisui Uchiha as well. Although he had been dead for years, some of his achievements were still remembered, such as his genjutsu. Genjutsu was Nagato's greatest weakness. If he could overcome that weakness, his strength might undergo a qualitative leap.
Konan nodded. "All right, I'll help you replace it." With that, she reached out to take the bottle from Nagato's hand.
Once Nagato handed her the bottle, Konan enveloped the eye in chakra and lifted it out. Nagato opened his dark, empty right socket. The sight brought another unexpected pang to Konan's heart, but she quickly composed herself. She pressed the eye into his right socket while releasing Medical Ninjutsu over it.
The Uzumaki Clan's powerful vitality, combined with Konan's Medical Ninjutsu, soon took effect. Before long, sensation returned to Nagato's right eye. He could feel it beginning to see again, even if all he could make out was light.
As time passed, Nagato gradually felt the dry eye grow moist. It felt uncomfortable at first, but that sensation slowly faded. He knew the transplant had succeeded, and Konan withdrew her Medical Ninjutsu.
"How is it, Nagato? Can you see? Does anything feel uncomfortable?" she asked.
Nagato opened his right eye and looked around, then looked at Konan
