The Third Hokage walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows and looked out at the rapidly developing Konoha. The old houses had become towering buildings, and the muddy roads had been replaced with reinforced concrete. Apart from the compounds of the major clans, which retained their original appearance, Konoha could now be considered a proper city.

The wooden perimeter wall had also been replaced by massive steel walls three meters thick. Looking at the ever-changing Konoha and the happy, contented smiles on its residents' faces, then thinking back on the past, the Third Hokage sighed. "This is the Konoha I've wanted to create for decades, the one everyone in the Shinobi World has longed for. To think Naruto actually made it happen. His philosophy was right. Commerce... who would have thought something so unassuming would bring about peace?"

Tsunade sighed as well. "I never thought that brat Naruto would actually accomplish what he said he would. He achieved the goal we've struggled toward so easily. Starting with my grandfather, through five generations of Hokage, we've finally achieved true peace in our generation. It almost doesn't feel real."

The Third Hokage smiled. "I never thought you'd feel that way too, Tsunade. Heh..."

Tsunade shot him a sidelong glance and said indignantly, "Feel what way, exactly? Old man, you'd better explain yourself."

The Third Hokage smiled. "Nothing. I just suddenly remembered that little girl from back then and realized she's grown up now."

Tsunade looked away. "How old do you think I am? Did you expect me to stay a little girl forever? You've gotten old too, old man."

"Perhaps," the Third Hokage said with a smile. "But I still refuse to admit I'm finished. I want to see where the Shinobi World goes from here. I really do." He looked somewhat forlorn.
