Naruto chased Gaara into the forest. Temari and Kankuro noticed him pursuing them, and Temari told Kankuro, "Take Gaara and go ahead. I'll stop him." Kankuro nodded, then carried Gaara away on his back.

Temari stopped and drew the fan from her back, swinging it straight at Naruto. Powerful wind blades hurtled toward him. Naruto quickly dodged to the side and smiled at her. "You think you can stop me?"

Hearing his words, Temari watched Naruto with a grave expression. He smiled at her wary stance. "Step aside now, and I won't hurt you at all. Otherwise, I can't guarantee you won't get hurt."

Temari said warily, "I know I can't stop you, but I have to hold out until Gaara recovers, at least."

Naruto smiled. "You really care about Gaara?"

"Gaara is frightening, and I'm afraid of him," Temari replied. "But he's still my little brother. Whatever happens, I'll protect him from harm."

"He's really lucky," Naruto said wistfully. "But I don't understand. You're clearly worried about him and care about him. So why don't you and Kankuro dare comfort his wounded heart? Why did you let him become like this?"

"That's none of your business," Temari replied. "What I choose to do is my own decision. It's not your place to lecture me." With that, she raised her fan and swung it viciously at Naruto.

Naruto dodged all her wind blades, formed a Rasengan in his hand, and slammed it into her fan. The fan flew from Temari's hands, and the powerful impact sent her flying as well.

Once Temari had been knocked away, Naruto ignored her and prepared to resume chasing Gaara. Just as he was about to leave, she blocked his path again. "I told you, I won't let you past."
