Background

Niu Dingtian was raised in Ox Family Town, Niu family territory near Green Plains Mountain. He was considered talented by Instructor Niu He, with everyday performance comparable to his childhood rival Niu Han. His future became uncertain when Lu Li's consciousness was implanted into his body during the annual Fate Soul Awakening ritual. 408 409

He awakened the Heaven-Supporting Snail, an intelligent Fate Soul that presented him with an abnormally long list of abilities. Fearing envy and seeking access to family resources, Niu Dingtian concealed its true scope and claimed only three abilities, allowing the town to classify him provisionally as an Earth-grade Fate Soul user. The town elder subsequently supplied him with cultivation resources and supported his opportunity to enter Great Cloud Mountain Academy. 409 410 412

The Heaven-Supporting System enhanced his cultivation technique into Shaking Ox Force and directed him toward Great Cloud Mountain Academy. During the academy's beast-ground examination, he defeated students and mystic beasts to collect thirty bells, earning the title Bell Demon King.
