Purpose and Jurisdiction

The Martial Suppression Bureau is one of Great Qin's two principal violent institutions alongside the military. While the military expands its strength through large-scale wartime selection, the Bureau prioritizes elite martial artists. Its danger level is considered no lower than the military's. 16

Its name reflects its foundational purpose: “Martial” refers to warriors, while “Suppression” means to suppress and kill. The Bureau was created to prevent powerful warriors and martial factions from becoming separatist powers, with its other authorities derived from that function. 179

A Guardian stands above prefectural commanders. Guardian Wei Huang oversaw the Bureau branches of Desert Dust, Cloud River, and Guanhong Prefectures, while Chu Yuan later became Guardian over Yunan, Anyin, and Jinping Prefectures. 103 243

Martial Suppression Tokens

Martial Suppression Tokens serve as symbols of honor and protection. Public Security Bureau officers withdraw from cases involving a token holder because Bureau-related cases are considered too dangerous for them to handle. 90

Facilities and Operations

The Yunan Prefecture headquarters is a vast, heavily guarded complex with dangerous energy concealed within its grounds, apparently through a formation. It also possesses teleportation-array access to Secret Realm No. 7, the Blood Beast Secret Realm. 40

The Bureau conducts Alien Race infiltration screening through devices that react to non-human mental power. 108

Its presence is strongest in Great Qin's heartland. On the Outer-Heaven Battlefield, lower- and middle-ranking warriors may rarely encounter it due to manpower limitations, although many high-ranking Bureau officials concurrently serve in the legions. 143 160

Major Incidents

Chenyang City rebel investigation

After Chu Yuan was framed through an impostor murder scheme, the Chenyang City Bureau identified a rebel group targeting unformed martial geniuses through assassination, false accusations, and forced recruitment. Jiang Fei and Xiao Yun were assigned to eliminate the group. 16

The Bureau had already detected irregularities surrounding rebel leader Yan Xuan, but its response came too late to prevent the Blood Sacrifice Array disaster. The presence of a high-ranking traitor within Chenyang City severely obstructed its investigation. 21 26

Twilight Island complaint

Chu Yuan reported that Twilight Island Bureau member Li Wenxuan had established the Wenxuan Family and allowed it to influence ordinary life and martial cultivation as a local noble power. Jiang Fei accepted the complaint for escalation. 77

West Cloud City infiltration

Captain Zhao Mingren detained Tian Tian on fabricated accusations related to forbidden arts, refusing to yield even to Chu Yuan's Martial Suppression Token. 103

Chu Yuan used Wei Huang's authority to strip Zhao Mingren of his captaincy and order his arrest. Zhao Mingren was subsequently revealed to have been replaced or controlled by the Nightmare Insect Race, while multiple Bureau martial artists had been mentally compromised. 104 105

Western Continent inspection

Chu Yuan was sent to the Western Continent as a Bureau member to investigate corrupt commanders, martial clans, and hostile organizations. Cai Hongkai emphasized that the mission required the Bureau's ruthless suppressive role. 179 180

During the inspection, several commanders plotted against Chu Yuan to conceal their crimes. Li Wei, Guo Ming, and Sun Meng were defeated after attempting to kill him, and their affiliated families later surrendered improperly obtained industries to the Bureau or local authorities. 186 208

When the Wild Demon Secret Realm's black tide threatened Mesa City, a major Bureau stronghold on the Western Continent, internal conflicts were suspended. Guo Ming entered the tide alone to investigate its controller, while Feng Zhao organized a civilian evacuation. 188

Three Prefectures Guardianship

After reaching the Eighth Realm, Chu Yuan chose appointment as a Martial Suppression Bureau Guardian rather than command of the Tenth Legion. He was assigned to oversee Yunan, Anyin, and Jinping Prefectures, his home region. 243

The three prefectural commanders—Wei Hongfeng of Yunan, Cen Xiao of Jinping, and Dai Wang of Anyin—received Chu Yuan at his inauguration in Yunan Prefecture. His appointment was followed by a significant reduction in local crime. 244
