Background

Huo Yutong was born to Huo Yuner, a maid of the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion, and was expelled from the estate as an illegitimate daughter. Her poverty and isolation forced her to pursue any available soul ring, even one incompatible with her Martial Soul, because survival came before long-term prospects 4.

While attempting to absorb a Wind Baboon’s ring, she was approached by a remnant soul that entered her spiritual world and later encountered Tian Meng. Jiang Yi saved her from Tian Meng, becoming the first person to ask her name of his own initiative 4 5. Tang Ya subsequently learned of Yutong’s circumstances, treated her as a younger sister, and recruited her into the Tang Sect 7.

Jiang Yi later helped her obtain her first soul ring from a White Tiger. The ring granted Eye of True Sight, an ability that became central to both her combat style and Soul Tool studies 9 10.

Her early time at Shrek was marked by a conflict with Tang Wutong, whom she defeated through precise observation of soul-power circulation and Tang Sect techniques. The two eventually became close alongside Xiao Xiao 16 19.

Guided by dreams and Electrolux, she found the remains of a fallen White Tiger, accepted its inheritance, and spent a year completing its trials. She is pragmatic and determined. As a child, she was prepared to risk absorbing an unsuitable soul ring because she believed she had to live long enough to seek justice for her mother 4. In combat, she remains calm, observant, and highly strategic, exploiting opponents’ weaknesses rather than relying solely on force 16.

Her resentment toward Dai Hao and the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion runs deep.
