Background / History

Cheng Duoyi was a sickly orphan under Leng Yaozhu's care. At six years old, he was notably thin and frail, though his eyes remained unusually bright. Leng Yaozhu acted as his godmother, personally comforting and supporting him through his poor health. 1

His martial soul awakening at the Spirit Pagoda produced unprecedented Nine-Colored Light and a powerful dragon aura. The phenomenon formed a spirit sea within him and revealed the presence of the Dragon God's Wife, but it also caused his life force to drain rapidly. Life Douluo used his own origin vitality and Millennium Life Fruits to stabilize Cheng, though the underlying condition remained unresolved. 1 2

A month later, Cheng entered the intermediate Spirit Ascension Platform, where an Indomitable Soul Tyrannosaurus knelt before him and voluntarily became his first soul spirit. The fusion raised him to level 12 and demonstrated the authority his bloodline held over dragon-type spirit beasts. 3 4

While studying at Eastsea Academy, Cheng formed a close group around Tang Wuling, Gu Yue, Xie Xie, and Yun Xiao. Dragon-bloodline companions could stabilize or accelerate his recovery, while his presence in turn enhanced the cultivation of those with dragon blood who bore him no hostility. 15 17
