Background / History

Tang San was originally an outer disciple of the Bashu Tang Sect. After being discovered stealing the sect's secret techniques, he took his own life before he could be captured. He subsequently arrived in the Douluo Continent and occupied the body of Tang Hao's deceased child. 30

According to Bai Tu's account, Tang San later accepts Yu Xiaogang as his teacher, joins the Shrek Seven Devils, helps overthrow Martial Soul Hall, and ultimately achieves dual godhood as the Sea God and Asura God. 30

Bai Tu regards Tang San as a natural enemy due to Tang San's eventual position as a God King and his association with the Asura God. Bai Tu repeatedly interferes with Tang San's growth, relationships, and future plans. 1 43

Personality

Tang San is highly survival-driven, pragmatic, and capable of extreme ruthlessness. During the Phantom Moon Game, he kills the three Dai Mubais preemptively to remove possible threats, later explaining that he considered them dangerous. 66

His attachment to power frequently outweighs his personal bonds. When Bai Tu forces him to choose between reviving Xiao Wu and becoming a god, Tang San chooses godhood; after Bai Tu reveals that he cannot grant either wish, Tang San asks for his body to be restored instead. 70

Despite his suspicion and brutality, Tang San craves familial recognition. Tang Hao's apparent confession and protection quickly earn his trust, making Tang Hao's later betrayal especially devastating. 68

Shrek Academy Affliction

Tang San becomes one of the Shrek students affected by Bai Tu's Propagation Power. When he reaches Level 30, he unexpectedly gives birth to a child, falls back to Level 29, and becomes trapped in a recurring Level 29–30 cycle. 45 66

He reacts with horror to the situation but preserves his own child after discovering it has Innate Full Soul Power and twin martial souls. Xiao Wu protects the child, preventing Tang San from disposing of it. 45

Phantom Moon Game

Bai Tu places Tang San into the Phantom Moon Game, where survival and killing raise participants' levels. Tang San kills the three Dai Mubais, reaching Level 40, and later gains Tang Hao's assistance to reach Level 80. 66 68

The game pits him against Tang Sect San and God San while exposing him to a staged sequence of trust, betrayal, and loss. Tang Hao ultimately attacks Tang San and declares God San more outstanding. 68

Xiao Wu sacrifices herself for Tang San, giving him a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring. Tang San retaliates violently, kills Tang Hao, and continues fighting to survive. 69

Final Choice

After surviving the game's destruction, Tang San asks Bai Tu to make him a god. Bai Tu presents Xiao Wu's soul and gives him a choice between saving her and pursuing godhood. Tang San chooses godhood. 70

Bai Tu then reveals that he is not the God of Joy and cannot elevate Tang San to godhood, leaving Tang San injured, bereft of Xiao Wu, and without the reward he sought. 70
