Background
Tang San is the son of Tang Hao, the Clear Sky Douluo. He initially grows up believing his father to be an ordinary, drunken blacksmith, only learning later that he is a direct descendant of the Clear Sky Sect when he summons the Clear Sky Hammer before Titan of the Strength Clan. 74 96
As a student of Yu Xiaogang and a member of Shrek Academy, Tang San is promoted as a prodigy because of his Twin Martial Souls, Tang Sect techniques, and hidden weapons. His confidence is repeatedly shattered by Lin Qiu’s power, beginning with Tang Hao’s defeat and continuing through the Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. 66 75 111 113
After the tournament, Tang San is brought to the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Xiao names him Young Sect Master after witnessing his progress under Tang Chen, and Tang San begins rebuilding the Tang Sect by recruiting the four single-attribute clans. 116 123
Appearance
Tang San is depicted as a young man with a normally upright bearing. During the tournament he wears an ink-green uniform; during his later hammer training, he is often shirtless, lean, and muscular from constant physical exertion. 110 123
- Ink-green Shrek Academy uniform during the tournament finals. 110
- Lean, sturdy build developed through Clear Sky Hammer training. 123
- Often shown with bloodshot eyes, bloodstained clothing, or visible exhaustion during his pursuit of revenge. 116 123
- Bears a forehead mark that first appears as a blue-gold Trident Demon Mark before becoming a blood-colored sword pattern. 105 131
Personality
Tang San is intensely determined and refuses to abandon his pursuit of strength even after repeated defeats. Tang Hao’s crippling, Xiao Wu’s capture, and Lin Qiu’s humiliation of Shrek turn that determination into an increasingly obsessive desire for revenge. 75 116 117
He is tactically minded, favoring hidden weapons, poison, movement techniques, and coordinated plans. He later adjusts his approach after Tang Chen criticizes these methods as ineffective against overwhelming strength, devoting himself to the Clear Sky Hammer’s direct and forceful style. 113 116 117
Tang San repeatedly claims that he wants to protect Xiao Wu, but their relationship deteriorates after she questions whether his concern is tied to her value as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast. 112 127 128
