Background / History

Yu Xiaogang was rejected by the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan when he attempted to return and gain access to its archives. With his funds exhausted, he traveled to Martial Soul City hoping to exploit Bibi Dong's former feelings for him and obtain a solution to the backlash of Twin Martial Souls for Tang San's benefit. He believed this would allow him to cultivate a god and establish himself as the continent's foremost theorist. 26

Outside Martial Soul City, Yu presented himself as a Martial Soul Hall “Grandmaster,” claiming to have studied its library and formulated the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul. He offered cultivation guidance to commoners in exchange for money, using Martial Soul Hall's reputation to win their trust. 26

Lin Qiu publicly exposed him as an unaffiliated level 29 Soul Grand Master with no Pope's Order or Elder's Order. Yu responded by summoning Luo Sanpao and attempting to attack Lin, but was defeated by a single slap, losing teeth and suffering severe facial injuries. His alleged theories were subsequently ridiculed throughout Martial Soul City as plagiarized material taken from Martial Soul Hall archives. 27 28

Yu interrupted Lin Qiu's Holy Son investiture, convinced that Bibi Dong would support him against Lin. Instead, Bibi Dong rejected his demands; after he publicly slandered Lin, she ordered Hu Liena to sever his arm. Yu Yuanzhen intervened on behalf of the disgraced clan member, escalating the confrontation with Martial Soul Hall. 37 38 39

Following his humiliation, Yu and Flender sought to establish Shrek Academy as a means of cultivating students capable of defeating Lin Qiu.
