Dragon Hunt (Part 2)
Fran smiled slightly, ignoring Quentin's roar.
She carefully felt the Radiance on her hand and realized that after using the attack just now, the Radiance could still be used five more times.
This is Fran's reliance in this battle. It was given to her by the Lord of Radiance, who said that under the current circumstances, this is the most assistance he can give her, and there is nothing more.
Its effect is to launch powerful attacks or enhance Priest- type skills.
Defeating a second-tier dragon with just these resources is still quite difficult; some other assistance is needed.
Nearly two hundred ' Half-Dragon ' can definitely make up for this, not to mention that Fran has also created a lot of mechanical aids.
As Quentin landed, the surrounding ' Half-Dragon ' began adjusting their other ballistae to Quentin; these machines were key weapons for killing the dragon.
She made a total of twelve crossbows, but only used five to shoot Quentin in the sky because she knew the hit rate from the sky was very low.
If she missed all her shots, her efforts would have been in vain. Therefore, in the first wave, she only sent five ballistae to conduct a probing attack.
It turned out that it was difficult to bring a flying dragon down with just a flashbang and some ranged weapons; in the end, she had to use her Radiance ability to bring the dragon down.
Otherwise, if she tries to shoot a dragon flying in the sky, all her preparations will be in vain if she misses. Only by bringing the dragon down can her preparations be effective.
Quentin's roar went unanswered, and the pressure on him continued to increase, prompting him to launch a direct and forceful attack.
A simple fireball was instantly spewed from its mouth; this time, it didn't bother to build up its power, aiming for an instantaneous release.
The fireball scorched the air in its path, and in an instant it flew in front of Fran, crashing into a thin membrane of light and exploding, the flames directly scorching the ' Half-Dragon ' beside it.
"Screech!" The Half-Dragon shouted, enduring the pain.
"Everyone! Begin the attack!!"
"Slay the Evil Dragon!!"
It was as if a piece of sodium had been thrown into calm water; everyone charged forward, and the Dragon-Transformation Potion, which granted them powerful physical abilities, came into play at this moment.
As the order to charge was given, a thunderous roar of arrows being forcefully hurled erupted from both sides of Quentin.
This time, the arrows were much larger and twice as heavy as before. The heavy impact shattered the protruding scales the moment it touched Dragon Scale.
"Ah!" The dragon's head bent downwards in pain.
Seven arrow shafts pierced deeply into the Dragon Body, causing Quentin to Quentin in pain, demonstrating the extent of the damage.
Lyle charged to the front of the group; he knew from the Angmar priest's account a few days earlier that this dragon would destroy Monsa.
Furthermore, the fact that this dragon was transformed from the High Priest added a touch of hatred to his actions.
He hated the High Priest's inaction, for allowing those priests to fabricate charges and send innocent people to that hellish place.
Lyle raised a hoe high and slammed it down on the Dragon Body with all his might, but he only managed to scrape off a few small pieces of the hard Dragon Scale, without causing any further damage to Quentin.
However, Lyle had anticipated that the damage they inflicted would only cause the dragon's Dragon Scale to wear down slightly over time, but that was precisely their tactic.
He quickly adjusted his angle and scraped off another small fragment of Dragon Scale. They already knew that if they used normal weapons, they might not be able to harm the dragon in the slightest, no matter how hard they tried.
However, they could minimize the thickness of Quentin's Dragon Scale to make the ballistae and Fran's attacks more lethal, so they specifically chose weapons that could scrape off more fragments.
A group of ' Half-Dragon ' wielded hoes and picks, and worked hard to knock off every single Dragon Scale from Quentin's body.
Quentin was furious that his dignity as a true dragon had been trampled underfoot by these humans who had no Dragon Clan blood whatsoever.
It quickly gathered its strength, ignoring a ' Half-Dragon ' who smashed a scale off the corner of its eye with a hoe.
Quentin twisted his neck, pointing the dragon's head downwards, and spewed a fireball.
The fireball exploded upon contact with the ground, blasting away all the ' Half-Dragon ' surrounding Quentin.
In an instant, all the ' Half-Dragon ' surrounding Quentin were blasted away by the exploding fireball. Each of them had several large holes burned in their clothes, and their skin turned purplish-red.
Quentin was furious at those who had fired those arrows from the shadows. It slid its neck and, like an eel, quickly turned its head toward the direction from which one of the arrows had come.
Its enormous dragon mouth opened wide, revealing sharp black fangs. A red light emerged from its throat, followed by a large ball of flame continuously spewing from its mouth.
About eighty meters from the Battlefield, several ' Half-Dragon ' were loading crossbow bolts. They laboriously carried the bolts up and were about to draw the bowstring.
A burst of flame shot from afar, engulfing everyone and turning the ballistae into ashes.
After the Blaze subsided, all that remained was a humanoid object with its scales almost completely pulverized, its body covered in burn marks, and a faint trace of life remaining, along with a clump of black ash.
Just as Quentin was about to destroy all the ballistae one by one, before he could even unleash the fireball he had been charging up in his mouth, he was caught off guard.
A light suddenly appeared before its eyes, and then a force from both the top and bottom of its dragon mouth forced it shut.
This was another instance of Fran casting her Radiance Divine Spell, and this time the effect was remarkable, proving that her seizing the opportunity was not in vain.
Quentin bit down hard on a fireball with his dragon mouth, the scorching heat exploding inside, making him extremely uncomfortable.
Just then, eleven arrows blasted into its body from different directions, with two arrows piercing through its dragon wings and joining together.
It could no longer fly. Not to mention that its dragon wings were damaged, the numerous arrows embedded in its body made it even heavier, making it difficult to take off.
Fran noticed that something was wrong with its condition and unleashed all the Radiance in her hand, turning it into an extremely powerful attack.
A gigantic sword, made of light, fell from the sky, carrying immense kinetic energy as it pierced straight into Quentin's back, causing his dragon wings to loosen and creating a large, circular hole in his body.
The shockwave from the lightsaber's fall spread outwards, and the powerful airflow almost extinguished all the torches present, leaving only a few sparks on the ground to illuminate the entire Battlefield.
Lyle hurriedly lit a torch and approached the Dragon Body, where he saw the dragon's head lying limply on the ground, its enormous eyes still open.
He examined it himself before he was certain that the dragon was dead.
Lyle seemed to have lost all his strength, and knelt on the ground, letting the burning pain in his body torment his brain, and shouted to the sky.
"The Evil Dragon is dead!!!"
The Battlefield fell silent for a moment, then someone immediately responded.
"We've won!!!"
Everyone immediately laid down their weapons and began celebrating the victory.
Lyle turned and scanned the room, his gaze lingering on each person for a moment.
But he couldn't find the figure in the golden robe; there were only footprints in the mud where he had stood.
