The Transmutation School
To the east of the Magic Alliance lies a large coastal area, and within one of these areas, which lies in the sea, is the headquarters of the Transmutation School.
This influential School the Alliance headquartered here.
In the sea, there is a thin, curved membrane that is not circular, encasing a small island that has sunk to the bottom.
This small island seems to be a Floating City, standing in the sea, quite a distance from the seabed.
The island's interior is where the Transmutation School governs all School affairs.
In a completely black room, with yellowish-white luminous objects embedded in the walls, a discussion is taking place.
Vernon Chase was the Chief of the Transmutation School. It was he who broke away from the Necromancy School and, in just a few decades, became the School of the Alliance, holding a seat in the Alliance Council.
"Teacher, the lower-ranking members of White Dragon Port and the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents are all heading towards the Northern Territory. It seems they're looking for something. Shouldn't we send someone there?"
Vernon pondered for a moment and then gave a negative answer.
"No need. We just need to defend our existing territorial waters. Besides, we don't have as many low-level forces as they do. We need those forces to maintain our experiments..."
"Let them do what they want. As long as they don't send out third-tier Profession, we'll just stay put."
His words revealed a sense of helplessness, a helplessness stemming from a shortage of personnel within the School.
In this matter, he could not seek help from the Alliance, because the various School within the Alliance generally did not get along and all had their own conflicts.
They only unite when faced with a major event that forces them to cooperate, forming a force known as the ' Magic Alliance '.
As for the issue of the Ocean, it is mostly a conflict between the Transmutation School and other forces. Even if he calls on other School, School will not pay attention to him.
Moreover, despite the great things his enemies had done, not only was he himself unable to leave due to numerous important experiments, but most of the mages in his School were in the same situation.
Those with the ability are all doing experiments, while those without are afraid that if they are assigned to a task, the other party will give them a huge challenge.
Therefore, when faced with news of his enemies causing trouble in the Northern Territory, he could only choose to pretend he didn't see it, since the other side hadn't even mobilized their third-tier power.
"Should we send Cole? I remember the Northern Lands Society he attended is located in the Northern Territory, right? Let him sabotage both sides' objectives..."
"That's what Scott, Vernon's student, joked."
"Heh..." Vernon seemed amused as well. "No need. Cole is also tasked with gathering information on Iris's movements. Asking him to do that would be too much for him."
Cole was naturally his disciple, and he knew Cole's capabilities were far from sufficient to complete the task.
If Cole were to actually take on this mission, he seriously doubted that Cole would be beaten to death by the lord there.
"Ha!" Scott suddenly exclaimed, scratching his head.
"Cole sent over some newly published selected Paper from the Northern Lands Society. Teacher, wait a moment, I'll go print out these magic elements."
As a new phenomenon, the Mana Communication System saves a significant amount of paper and boasts a more powerful retrieval capability than books.
However, there are reasons why it wasn't promoted throughout the entire the Alliance; its inherent shortcomings aside.
More often than not, while magic essence is not directly used by mages, the Transmutation School can cultivate organs specifically designed to invade the Mana Communication System Mana Communication System copy the information within it.
This is also why those societies did not promote the Mana Communication System on a large scale, because they knew that it was not only the Transmutation School that could do this, but many School could also do it by researching it.
Although developers have been working hard to research relevant defense mechanisms and have achieved some results, the learned distrust and intrusion methods are also iterating.
Therefore, the Mana Communication System has not yet been established within the Transmutation School.
Of course, the Northern Lands Society's Mana Communication System couldn't stop their intrusion methods. This system was an old version that Iris had bought, and their technology had long since cracked this version.
In order to allow Cole to gather information there without having to painstakingly earn Contribution Points and then painstakingly exchange Paper, this organ that invades magic essence was implanted in Cole before he set off.
After a while, Scott returned, carrying a large pile of loose papers, and placed them on the table.
"Teacher, Cole said he couldn't find any trace of Harbos ' disciple there..."
"It's alright. Iris definitely knows that many people are looking for Fran, and she will definitely help Fran cover her identity. It's normal that Cole can't find her."
"I didn't have high hopes; I was just going to try my luck."
When Vernon heard that Harbos had a disciple and had even placed him in the Northern Lands Society, he, as Habers's enemy, wanted to curse him for being stupid.
What Harbos is doing now is digging into the roots of the Elemental School; putting that Paper in the Northern Lands Society is simply the dumbest choice.
Harbos could have easily secured the Master of Elements Award from the Elemental School and the Arcane Mage Award from the Alliance.
Either of these awards would be enough to secure a mage's place in the core of the Alliance and grant them access to resources leading to Fifth Order.
However, for some reason, Harbos published the Paper in the Northern Lands Society, which offended all the judges.
However, some judges still upheld the principle of results above all else, insisting that Harbos deserved these awards.
This has led to the judges still arguing about whether or not to award the prize to Harbos.
Generally speaking, the ratio of those who support Harbos to those who oppose Harbos among the judges is roughly 4:6.
The vote can only pass if two-thirds of the judges agree, so the procedure is stuck here.
At this point, if Harbos's disciples succumb to temptation and do something that accuses their mentor, then the judges might turn against them based on such accusations.
Of course, all of this depends on Fran's willingness. He hasn't even found her yet, so there's no way he can tempt her with anything.
"Alright then, let's see what great works the Northern Lands Society, which produced that Paper by Harbos that stirred up the entire the Alliance, has to offer."
Cole annotated all the selected Paper above, and almost every Paper included some carefully selected information.
For example, a few selected articles were recommended in one Paper, and in the Paper on Refining White Star Sand, it was stated that most of the selected articles were recommended.
Fran's Paper on Fireball spell only included:
"One featured cover story, no other featured stories."
After all, none of the other selectors knew about this Paper until it was Paper today, so it was impossible for them to recommend Paper in advance.
