Fran knew Anna probably had a lot of stories to tell, but for now, she needed to deal with this Undead first.

The Necro-Skeleton Mage let out another Undead Shriek, but this screech was blocked by the Hardened Scale Rock on Fran's body and did not cause any damage to Fran.

This is also the characteristic that Fran gained after her protective spell reached the Extraordinary Level, enabling her to resist spells.

Fran herself was unaware that the Undead Shriek could actually be considered a type of magic.

The screech of the undead skeleton mage gave the skeletons new instructions.

Hearing the command from their master, the skeletons grabbed their weapons and rushed towards Fran's location. Upon reaching Fran, they unleashed a vertical slash.

In the skeletons' understanding, there's no such thing as holding back or avoiding a direct confrontation; they simply obey orders and attack directly.

Fran, of course, wouldn't stand still and take the beating. She dodged to the side, and then her longsword burst forth with a white halo.

She simply swept her sword horizontally across the pile of skeletons, and the soul fire that was swept by the light exploded, scattering bones and limbs all over the ground.

The swarming skeletons were no match for Fran; with a mere sweep of her hand, they disintegrated under her attack.

However, the skeletons' attacks had no effect on her.

The skeletons' attacks couldn't even touch her; her body was extremely agile, and the Wind Element enhanced her movements.

Even if a couple of skeletons occasionally managed to hit her, it was nothing compared to Fran's powerful defenses.

These skeletons couldn't even trigger Fran's Shield Spell ring. Fran had set the Shield Spell Ring to activate when her own Hardened Scale Rock couldn't block the attack.

However, it's clear that Fran's Shield Spell Ring won't trigger at all when facing these skeletons.

The Necro-Skeleton Mage realized this as well, and continued to open its mouth wide, emitting a screech of the dead. However, unlike before, this screech seemed to carry an offensive capability.

The blue light emitted by the soul fire from its skull gradually grew larger, directly illuminating the entire space and staining the gray-black walls with a layer of blue gauze.

A blue wave, visible to the naked eye, emanated from its mouth, like a pebble thrown into still water, creating ripples.

The ripples spread, expanding throughout the entire space.

Anna thought it was just the kind of harmless Undead Shriek 'd heard before, so she simply covered her ears.

But when the blue wave spread to her, she felt as if her brain had been hit by a heavy hammer, and everything went black.

She stood there swaying for a moment before barely regaining her senses, desperately trying to open her eyes to see what was happening on the Battlefield.

She felt a chill run down her spine as she heard the shriek of the undead skeleton mage.

She couldn't even imagine that if she were here, she would probably be controlled by such a scream immediately and then be taken away by those skeleton soldiers.

By now, she was starting to doubt whether Fran could defeat her opponent. If all else failed, she would have no choice but to run away with Fran.

The moment she opened her eyes, she saw a scene that slightly relieved her.

Fran assumed a stance to block an attack, as if she were blocking a close-range attack.

But this is Undead Shriek, a kind of spell attack! What's the point of making a gesture to block a physical attack?

Fran is now using Sword Dance, the signature moves of the Sword Chant School, just like Anna had heard about before.

What reassured Anna even more was that a steady magical fluctuation emanated from Fran's sword, which could be seen from its collision with the Undead Shriek, indicating the strong Mental Power support it possessed.

The blue wave was contained in front of her, seemingly split in two by Fran's longsword, and failed to attack Fran at all.

With the Necro-Skeleton Mage launching an attack, it was naturally Fran's turn to strike.

She didn't directly use [Tool Enchantment] and [Tool Overload] to enhance her longsword and then unleash the powerful attack from the runes on it.

Instead, she threw a fireball first, not aiming at any of the soulfires, but instead throwing the fireball below her chest.

The attack struck its target directly, and Dragon Flame began to burn on the Necro-Skeleton Mage's ribs, spreading rapidly.

This was Fran using her Mental Power to control the Dragon Flame and make them spread rapidly; otherwise, the Dragon Flame would probably have burned her ribs immediately, leaving no time for them to spread.

It let out another shriek, not as a threat, nor as an attack; it sensed a threat it had never felt before.

It knew that if it didn't deal with the flames spreading across its body, it would probably not be long before it found peace.

It ignited the soul fire in its chest, making it burn even brighter. In return, half of the skeletons that were still moving suddenly lost all their strength, their soul fire went out, and they collapsed to the ground.

At the same time, the intensely burning blue soul fire expanded directly to the outside of the bone body, colliding directly with the Dragon Flame burning its body from the outside.

Ultimately, the Dragon Flame were still quite far from Fran. Although her Mental Power was much stronger than her opponent's, she was still unable to defeat him physically.

However, Fran never intended to burn her opponent alive with the Dragon Flame.

Just as the Necro-Skeleton Mage extinguished the Dragon Flame, he hadn't even had time to rejoice at his cleverness in using soul fire to resolve the crisis.

It felt a dark shadow flash upwards, and then it felt a weight on the two limbs with soul fire.

Before it could even react, it felt a pain that came from the depths of its being—the reaction of its soul fire exploding.

Fran leaped directly above the Necro-Skeleton Mage and plunged her glowing longsword inside.

It has to be said that the light element seems to be the perfect counter to the undead. Fran originally thought that it would take at least a First Order spell to break the soul fire, but it was shattered into dust by this attack.

To Anna's astonishment, Fran exchanged blows with the seemingly powerful Necro-Skeleton Mage for more than ten seconds before all the soul fire on Fran's body was extinguished.

The Necro-Skeleton Mage let out a terrible scream every time a soul fire was destroyed, making its pain clearly palpable.

This pain prevented it from dealing with Fran rationally; it could only struggle desperately with its body, but this struggle was of no use to Fran.

Anna didn't snap out of her daze until all the skeletons had fallen and the weapons had dropped to the ground.

"That's it?"
