Bonus Spell
Aside from the unique advancement methods of each School thought, there are three main ways for mages to advance: first, by becoming Battle Mage; second, by using special extraordinary items; and finally, the Elite Mage advancement method, which will be discussed in this article.
[The first two methods require either securing one of the few available spots or searching for a potentially non-existent 'supernatural object.' Neither of these methods can compare to the steady, step-by-step progress of Elite Mage...]
Of the three, only Elite Mage advance solely based on their own strength and certain outstanding characteristics...
The Paper then went on to discuss a long list of flaws in the other two methods, and to praise the powerful attributes of the Elite Mage Profession...
Fran guessed in a second how the author of the Paper had advanced to the second rank; it was far too easy to guess...
There are quite a few Paper like this in the Northern Lands Society, which criticize a lot of things, because the academic achievement sharing system for mages is not very perfect.
Comparing the roles of the reviewers and the academic reviewers, you'll find that the reviewers actually don't have much power. The original purpose of the reviewers was to filter out a batch of Paper that clearly looked like 'garbage'.
They have neither the right to carefully review the content of the Paper nor the ability to standardize the format of the content written by the monks.
The monks have so much power in writing content that, apart from removing some insults that name names according to regulations, the reviewers only require that the narrative be fluent before it can be published.
In this context, it is commonplace throughout the Alliance to present Paper at the outset and subtly or overtly denigrate certain aspects of a paper.
Fran 've seen one before, but that's about it; Paper that belittle other things are relatively rare.
That's why no monk has stepped forward to regulate everyone's future Paper writing, because it's a low-probability event.
Fran skipped over about a tenth of the content before she saw the truly valuable part of the Paper.
The most significant characteristic of Elite Mage after advancement lies in the changes brought about by the three foundational spells.
[After advancing, you'll find that you have a much higher level of control over those three spells, and you'll improve at a faster pace in your subsequent practice of these three First Order spells.]
[Furthermore, depending on the types of the three spells you choose, this promotion will also bring you additional benefits.]
[For example, the Flame School, a branch of the Elemental School, has a unique advantage among Elite Mage: all three of their spells are related to the Fire Element.]
[Thus, after they advance to the second tier, their Fire Element spells are far more powerful than other mages' second-tier spells (this applies to spell power, not functionality); this is a unique method of application.]
[Of course, most mages, when advancing in rank, use three spells they themselves don't know why they've somehow mastered; these three spells are unlikely to form a simple connection.]
[For example, the approach of the Elemental School, which simply uses all spells of a single element as a base, is not applicable in this situation. Many Elite Mage also become confused about this aspect after advancing in rank.]
[Don't panic, this is normal. Most Elite Mage go through this process; they also explore the unique changes that come with their advancement, which is precisely the charm of this Profession.]
[After advancement, the effects will vary depending on the spell you choose.]
[Some spells will treat your three spells as a permanent effect, attaching to you and remaining there as long as your Mental Power isn't depleted.]
[Some will grant you a composite channeling ability, allowing you to cast three spells at once through a single channeling that consumes a significant amount of energy.]
[Other situations are more complicated; you might receive a spell you didn't know before, which we call a bonus spell.]
This article presents solutions for various situations from several School, including solutions from the Necromancy School that utilize three different mage systems: [Summon Powerful Undead], [Necrotic Body], and [Dead Energy], allowing you to master the unknown spells you acquire.
The most common problem with the Elemental School is using three different elemental spells, which requires the famous Elemental Conversion technique...
At the end of the Paper, Fran finally saw a solution to her problem: using the Elemental School's magical techniques— Elemental Conversion.
According to the speculation in the Paper, as long as the various elements are connected, the unspeakable spell can be revealed.
As for how exactly this Elemental Conversion should be performed, this Paper does not mention it, because this is a technique specific to the Elemental School, and each mage needs to find it themselves.
"That's it?!" Fran frowned, but the blank space after the characters did tell her that the Paper was over.
"Alright, at least we got the key information." Fran sighed, having no choice but to accept it. Instead of searching for Paper on Elemental Conversion in the Mana Communication System, she simply closed the receiver.
In fact, she already possessed the technique of Elemental Conversion; it was the very paper that Harbos had given her, which recorded Harbos's self-created second-order spells.
It's important to know that what's been causing such a stir these days is Harbos's Paper on the Perpetual Conversion of Fire Element into Wind Element, which can be considered an upgraded version of Elemental Conversion.
Since this is Harbos's latest achievement, he must have mastered the technique of Elemental Conversion, and perhaps even have a deep understanding of it.
Harbos wrote a second-tier spell on Fran's spellbook that relied on Elemental Conversion.
Since Elemental Conversion is an advanced technique, Harbos himself only learned it at the second level and applied it to the creation of spells.
Fran flipped open the slip of paper, which contained three second-tier spells, all created by Harbos.
One is called [Hand of the Furnace], which is a spell specifically used to assist in crafting weapons. In terms of destructive power, it is not even as high as First Order spell; it is merely a production spell.
The other is called [Weapon Casting Technique], a spell that enhances weapons. It cannot coexist with runes and can strengthen newly forged weapons, but it is not an offensive spell.
The last spell was the one that involved Elemental Conversion— [Elemental Radiance].
This is an upgraded version of the spell [Elemental Bomb] that Fran had heard Nora mention before.
A normal Elemental Bomb is an attack spell, but it's significantly weaker than a normal attack spell. Even spells with higher elemental affinity and enhanced chemical affinity might be more powerful than this one.
However, the true purpose of Elemental Bomb is not to directly kill, but to efficiently activate the surrounding environment, making the surrounding elements more active and increasing the effect of the next elemental spell.
[Elemental Radiance] is a spell that combines Elemental Conversion techniques with the effect of [Elemental Bomb].
Its function is to activate a certain element after using the spell, which is the same as the effect of [Elemental Bomb].
However, its true power lies in its ability to continuously generate a domain that causes elements in the surrounding environment to tend towards the most active elements in the environment.
Simply put, this is a spell that can continuously transform the surrounding environmental elements, uniformly converting all surrounding elements into a single element.
This spell can not only enhance the elemental spells you are about to cast, but also weaken another spell your enemy is about to cast.
Harbos's spell is extremely powerful; it's a very useful second-tier spell, and even many mages within the Elemental School exchange for it.
In other words, this spell is not only likely to be used by Harbos and Fran, but also by many Elemental School mages, since it is clearly Elemental School spell.
However, this spell was created by Harbos, who has the right to teach it and can freely teach it to any mage, which is why Fran was able to learn it.
Along with this spell, there was also Habers' emotion.
"This is the only spell I created related to the Elemental School. After that, I never created any new elemental spells."
Harbos originally didn't intend to leave this spell to Fran, since their School was called the Forge School, and this spell didn't seem to be related to ' Forge ' at all.
However, Harbos thought that Fran might want to learn spells from other School, so he might use this spell, and therefore he wrote it down as well.
Fran carefully read the spell structure of [Elemental Radiance], and then saw the spell on her Panel.
She felt that as long as she practiced this spell more, she would become more proficient in Elemental Conversion and then she would know what this spell full of question marks was.
Then there are Harbos's other two second-tier support spells, which are a bit tricky because they are both spells related to weapon forging.
Fran still needs to find suitable materials and squeeze out time before she can practice these two spells.
"Next is the Spirit Realm." After accomplishing so much, Fran felt utterly exhausted.
The promotion had taken a lot of her energy, then she had to conduct experiments, then come to the Mage Tower to read Paper, and continue planning for the future. All of this left her feeling physically exhausted, even though she still had a lot of Mental Power left.
"Next, we'll head to the Spirit Realm. We'll see if we can find any reliable Tier 2 materials Spirit Realm. My weapon also needs an upgrade."
When Fran was at First Order, her weapon was still usable, but after reaching Tier 2, her weapon was mostly outdated.
She herself possessed Weapon Forging techniques taught by the 'master' Harbos, as well as her own extraordinary level of [Foundry Studies].
In this situation, how could she tolerate her weapon being inferior to her rank?
