Matters in the Spirit Realm
It was seven days later when Fran had finished setting up the Ore smelting equipment and had the workers start calcining the Ore to smelt it into usable standard steel.
At this point, there was only a little over a week left before Fran and Lucy agreed to end the experiment in a month.
Fran showed no sign of ending the experiment; instead, she continued to purchase supplies and food from White Flower City and transport them to the Base Camp, which made Lucy somewhat anxious.
However, there was still some time before the time she and Fran had agreed upon, so it would be inappropriate to disturb or urge Fran at this time.
So she didn't do that, but continued to wait patiently.
Fran, on the other hand, was not worried about this at all, because she had no intention of discussing it with Lucy in the first place. The reason she gave a one-month deadline was simply to buy time.
After this month has passed, Finley should be almost a lord by then, and Fran will be able to directly eliminate the pressure from Duke Theodore.
Without the pressure from Duke Theodore, Lucy alone wouldn't be able to handle things here, and Lucy 'd be the one in a panic.
Lucy's decision to target the Earth Spirit has made the situation irreconcilable; Lucy intends to use the Earth Spirit to obtain a large sum of money.
Fran needs a safe and stable Antir, and the two sides have long had irreconcilable conflicts.
Fran's advantage lies in the fact that she used her status to get advance notice of what Lucy was going to do, and from then on, Lucy was practically led by the nose by Fran.
Before the deadline arrives, Fran will say a few words to Lucy.
"The situation is a bit complicated; I'll need another two weeks."
She will then adjust the timing of Finley's ascension to lordship, extending it further.
At this point, Lucy might become impatient, but in most cases, the other party would accept the postponement proposal out of consideration for not offending Fran.
In another two weeks, Fran estimated that Lucy would also reach her breaking point, and at that time, Lucy would most likely either choose to give up or secretly confront him head-on.
And Fran will then make her stance clear.
"In that case, you don't need to worry about me. My own experiment will take some time. You can begin."
The other side might observe for a few days, and then start operating again, causing Duke Theodore's army to suffer a crushing defeat, creating a critical situation that forced him to activate the Territory Destroyer.
Fran made Finley the lord, thus ending Lucy's hopes of harming the Earth Spirit through this matter.
Of course, to prevent Lucy from resorting to desperate measures, Fran might need to take some protective measures for that Earth Spirit, but that's a matter for later; the most urgent time hasn't come yet.
Moreover, Finley's safety must be guaranteed, since if Finley dies, the territory will be without a lord.
Fran shook her head, setting aside her plans for the moment, and then looked at her masterpiece.
The entire Base Camp was now in a flurry of activity, with all the workers working non-stop. Fran assigned them suitable tasks.
She also implemented some incentive policies, such as allowing those who performed well to receive more food.
At this point, the Ore stored in the warehouse finally had a way to be released.
A week ago, the warehouse was already full of Ore, so Fran had to send people to put the Ore in a temporary storage point.
Now these Ore finally have a use; she no longer has to watch Ore being transported in batches only to end up sitting in the warehouse.
"Now it's time to deal with this steel."
Fran had been busy for almost half a month and had finally managed to process the Ore a little. Now, she had to do some processing work.
First, machining equipment such as lathes are essential. With these tools, and after training, these workers can actually make some parts themselves.
This was exactly what Fran had envisioned for workers to build their own muskets.
Even so, in the end, most of the work still fell on Fran's shoulders, and she had no choice but to do it.
Because all the newly produced steel, apart from the temporary processing done in the Base Camp to make some small parts and use them up, will be piled up in the warehouse.
If Fran doesn't hurry, she'll soon have to have another house built to store the steel.
Fran had only rested briefly, and just as she was about to get back to work, she felt a strange unease. She looked around, but saw nothing.
Is it just my imagination?
Fran frowned. She checked her surroundings again but found nothing. Just then, that feeling of unease returned to her heart.
This made her immediately put down everything she was doing and begin checking if she had forgotten anything.
Three hours later, Fran returned to her house in White Flower City and found the thing in her own place.
It was a small notebook that shone with a white light. According to Fran's understanding, it was given to her by the Lord of Radiance; it was because she found this Notebook that she later had an inextricable relationship with the Lord of Radiance.
Now, Fran finally knew what was calling her.
She pursed her lips, then stepped forward, placed the book in her hands, and slowly opened it.
When she turned to the first page, she saw a message marked in red.
[Hurry up and go to the Spirit Realm!!!]
The Alliance is about to attack that territory!
Fran felt that flutter in her heart again, causing her to sigh helplessly.
Although she had indeed forgotten about it, it's normal to feel annoyed when something that required her to deal with suddenly popped up just when she really wanted to get back to work.
Fran adjusted her mood slightly.
"We still have to go up; this matter is far too important."
Fran put the book away and placed it on the table. She spent a little time setting up a magical trap, then lay down on the bed and chanted the incantation, her consciousness sinking down.
Just as Fran regained consciousness in the Spirit Realm, the voice of the Lord of Radiance boomed in Fran ears.
"Oh my god! You've finally arrived! It wasn't for nothing that I've been calling you all this time."
Fran lowered her head slightly and saw that the necklace around her neck was glowing faintly. The tremor she had felt in the Material Realm earlier must have been due to this necklace.
"Stop yelling. I've come all this way, and your constant yelling is making me uncomfortable."
After a brief silence, Fran heard the Lord of Radiance's tremendous voice again.
"How dare you say that..."
Fran immediately took off the necklace, waited ten seconds, and then put it back on. This time, she did not hear the Lord of Radiance's voice again.
She didn't give the Lord of Radiance another chance to disturb her, and directly said:
"Stop talking. Aren't the Alliance already waiting for us? Are you ready to go?"
Fran waited five seconds without hearing a reply from the Lord of Radiance. Just as she was about to say something more, the voice finally rang out again. The Lord of Radiance seemed to have calmed down, realizing that this matter was of utmost importance.
"I'm all ready. I've even decided who to send to be the lord of this realm. All that's missing is you... Come to the Divine Temple, and I'll teleport you all there."
Fran tilted her head slightly before taking quick steps toward the Divine Temple.
When she arrived at the Divine Temple entrance, there was already someone waiting Divine Temple.
As a Deity, a basic level of dignity is essential. Normally, apart from those chosen by the Lord of Radiance, such as Fran and Lyle, other believers are not allowed to approach this Divine Temple.
This act of getting so close to the Divine Temple must have made the person who had been there for a long time a little too nervous.
"Hey, Una... I'm not late, am I...?"
Una was someone Fran had known for a long time, Lord of Radiance intended to choose her as the Domain Lord of that region.
There was a reason why the Lord of Radiance chose Una. First, she needed to select a candidate from among her followers, who had to be First Order Profession. Only with the Lord of Radiance's blessing could the requirements of the Spirit Realm for Domain Lord be met.
There are a fair number of people who have reached the First Order, and Una is one of them.
Furthermore, the relationship between Fran and Una led the Lord of Radiance to choose Una.
Fran was only slightly surprised by this, and did not question the Lord of Radiance's choice.
After all, in theory, a lord of a realm carries considerable weight in the Spirit Realm, even if that lord needs to make deals with the Alliance.
However, in any case, becoming the lord of a realm will undoubtedly bring many benefits.
Under these circumstances, it was quite normal for the Lord of Radiance to consider Fran's wishes and choose Una as the lord of that realm.
"No... um... it seems a bit late." Facing the Proxy of the Deity, Una instinctively wanted to say no, but after thinking about it carefully, she realized that she had indeed been waiting for quite a while.
Just as Fran stopped, about to ask the Lord of Radiance if she could leave, that voice suddenly rang out.
"I'll teleport you there." Then Fran instantly felt dizzy and saw an extremely unfamiliar scene.
"So fast?!"
Fran shook her head, slightly easing her discomfort, and then she heard several puzzled questions.
"Lord of Radiance... his Proxy..."
Fran opened her eyes and saw Tristan and Ophelia, the two mages with whom she had made a deal.
She waited for a while until the surrounding sounds gradually returned to normal, and then she spoke:
"I'm here. I'm not late, am I?"
Tristan smiled and then said:
"It was a little overtime, but that's alright, isn't it?"
Fran nodded in agreement, then Tristan spoke a few words through his Communication Device before looking up.
"Your Proxy, we've finished. It's your turn."
"Ah?!!"
