The enemy's response
The Lohan Archipelago are located to the south, Sea Blue Island is the closest landing point to White Dragon Port.
Sea Blue Island is a medium-sized island in the Lohan Archipelago. Before the incident at White Dragon Port, it was never considered a buffer zone.
However, something really did happen at White Dragon Port, and after the incident, the Alliance stayed in White Dragon Port and didn't leave. At this point, the buffer zone became Sea Blue Island.
The fact that the Alliance actually attacked White Dragon Port has made the rulers of the Lohan Archipelago extremely afraid that Sea Blue Island will be directly attacked, and that would mean their homeland would suffer greatly.
As a result, within just a few months, Sea Blue Island expanded into a military buffer zone, with a large amount of supplies and defensive forces arriving on the Sea Blue Island.
However, a major problem arose: who would be the temporary island lord of Sea Blue Island, in charge of the army and the allocation of all resources?
This is a very important position, but none of the Profession above the third rank dared to take it up.
The reason is simple: if they really take over, how will those high-level Profession escape? Only the high-level Profession who stay in the rear have a chance to escape. Regardless of whether you are a second or third-level professional in the front, you may be directly wiped out by the Alliance.
In the end, the position fell to Trutzismark Hylan, the original owner of Sea Blue Island.
Judging from this surname, Trutzismark's origins are quite clear; his family has probably been entrenched on the Sea Blue Island for centuries.
It seems to be in accordance with the rules to let a local island lord take over, and the high-level Profession behind him all agree.
The only downside is that Trutzismark is already the most hardworking person in his family on the path of a Profession, and even so, he is still a long way from reaching the third tier.
That's right, the newly appointed Sea Blue Island, who also serves as the head of the Sea Blue Island defense zone, is a Second Order Profession User, and even a Second Order Profession User was promoted twenty-three years ago.
Although the entire Lohan Archipelago is not large, there are at least twenty or thirty Profession of the third rank or above, and the Lord of Lohan is a Fourth Order Profession Holder.
This group of Profession, who would be considered a considerable force anywhere on the continent, all retreated to the rear, leaving a Second Order Profession User to lead nearly half of the supplies to guard the front.
"I need to defend against the Alliance's first wave of attack, and also get back firsthand information about the Alliance's offensive."
When Trutzismark received this mission, he was practically stunned and nearly fainted. Those Profession in the rear really dared to do this; what could a mere second-tier cultivator like him possibly withstand?
He had even heard that the Alliance's Battle Mage Corps was enormous. Although it was filled with a large number of low-level mages, almost every time there was a large-scale battle against the outside world, there would be five or Third Order Mage leading the charge.
Admittedly, the people of the Lohan Archipelago are professionals at fighting at sea and on the shore. After all, the Lohan Archipelago are a large island market for stolen goods, and there are plenty of Profession in combat.
However experienced they were, Trutzismark saw no hope of victory against their well-organized army and numerous Order Profession.
So, just like the high-level Profession behind him, his purpose here was simply to provide them with information about the Alliance's impending Profession.
In fact, the high-level Profession behind them didn't even expect him to stop the Alliance's offensive; their most important task was to have him pass on information to them.
It's estimated that once he relays the information, all the high-level Profession behind him will run away, and even their Fourth Order Profession Holder will flee.
Trutzismark sighed. His entire fortune was here, and a Second Order Profession User wasn't even that experienced might not be able to escape the Lohan Archipelago after losing his fortune.
His only chance of survival now is to surrender when the Alliance attacks and become the guide for the Alliance mages.
Trutzismark thought about the only thing he could do in the future, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt that the current situation was really too messed up.
"Sir, a powerful Profession has arrived at White Dragon Port..." Trutzismark's thoughts were interrupted by his subordinate's message, causing him to look up in confusion.
"Didn't I already say? These powerful Profession should go back to where they came from. Are our armed soldiers on Sea Blue Island just sitting around doing nothing?" His tone was filled with confusion and anger.
Although the absence of the high-level Profession from the Lohan Archipelago greatly weakened Trutzismark's defensive capabilities, Lohan's years of accumulated strength were not to be underestimated.
If they encounter lone first or second-tier Profession, Trutzismark can have his soldiers dressed in top-notch equipment and form a square formation to fight them off. Even Profession who are about to advance to the third tier will have to avoid his attacks.
"No, sir, you're mistaken. The one who's arrived is a Third Order Professional, and I heard he's the city lord of White Dragon Port, ' Dragon Tamer ' Nolan."
No sooner had he finished speaking than another subordinate's voice came from outside the door.
"Sir, the Archbishop the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents, who escaped from White Dragon Port a few months ago, is coming to see you. We have already guided him to the reception room."
"Cesar... why is he coming to see me at this time... I hope he and the ' Dragon Tamer ' don't fight." Trutzismark knew about the feud between the two and asked with some concern.
But before he could continue worrying, another subordinate brought him a new report.
"Several priests in purple robes from the Snow Empire's War Ritual Sect have arrived, and black-robed priests from the Longkailan War Order are already in the reception room. They're about to fight."
Trutzismark's lips twitched. Although both were God of War Sect, due to some historical factors, these two regional Sect had never been on good terms.
If the followers of these two regional Sect were fighting, then Trutzismark truly believed it, though at this moment his face no longer showed any anxiety.
Because it's no longer necessary. He couldn't have stopped these people from fighting anyway, and even with the current defensive strength of Sea Blue Island, it might not be enough to even give them a piece of his mind.
He knew very well that these Sect had very strict requirements for the clothing of their followers, and that followers of different statuses wore different clothes. One could easily judge a person's status and strength based on their clothing.
So he specifically instructed his subordinates to take note of the distinctive clothing of unfamiliar Profession they encountered. Looking back, he probably made the best decision he ever did.
Because these people are all Tier 3, how could he, a Second Order Profession User, possibly possibly entertain them?
It's estimated that when he got there, these people thought that introducing a Second Order Profession User was an insult to them, and they killed him, the island lord, on the spot.
"No need to see him. Just say I have urgent business to attend to," Trutzismark said, skillfully using his escape technique.
"If they have anything they need to discuss with me, just let them come down. I have to go now."
After saying that, ignoring the astonished looks of his subordinates, he slipped away towards the port leading to the interior of the Lohan Archipelago.
He certainly didn't want to run away now, but if something really happened and he wasn't at the port, he really wouldn't be able to escape.
On the other side, in the reception room of Sea Blue Island, if Trutzismark could see the situation here, he would be very glad that he had not chosen to come here.
Because the original large house had long been destroyed in the battle, the entire area had become an open space, and several Profession dressed in different clothes sat warily on a long table.
' Dragon Tamer ' Nolan and Cesar, the Archbishop of the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents in White Dragon Port, sat on opposite sides of the table, staring at each other with tense expressions, as if they were about to fight.
On the other side, it was even more outrageous: the War Ritual Sect followers of the Snow Empire, dressed in purple robes and holding heavy weapons, sat reclining on a bench, not even looking ahead.
The followers of the Longkailan War Order were all black, their hair as black as if they had fallen into a coal pit. Their hands were placed on the table, almost loosely gripping the weapons.
The tense atmosphere made even the servants from Sea Blue Island dare not approach, holding their breath and tiptoeing slowly as they passed by.
"Alright, everyone, I'm here to find out what's really going on here, not to mediate your conflicts."
The speaker had blond hair and wore a dazzling white armor, with an angry lion's head embroidered on his right arm armor, indicating his origin.
"There's nothing to say, Your Highness. The Alliance wants to attack this place, and we are just trying to make a last stand."
Archbishop Cesar of the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents knew that the Profession present were mostly rough men who didn't know how to speak, so only he stepped forward to respond.
"Oh..." A broad, calloused hand landed on the table, and the owner of the hand spoke softly, confirming Cesar's answer. But judging from the curiosity and doubt on his face, he would not be satisfied with this.
"I don't believe you've all gathered here merely to engage in some meaningless struggle, or even to the point of debating what is meaningless."
He paused for a moment, crossed his hands in front of his chest, and leaned forward.
"The Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents is procuring weapons, equipment, and precious materials on a large scale. Sect related to the God of War have begun recruiting soldiers. Merchant fleets on the Ocean seem to have received this news, and now ninety percent of the merchant ships passing through this area have disappeared."
"I don't think that if the Alliance simply occupied this area, it would have such a significant impact. After all, the Alliance is known for not letting its soldiers massacre the city after occupying a region, but rather for focusing on developing the occupied territory."
"The Lohan Archipelago aren't that important. Being controlled by the Alliance, the Lohan Archipelago will just mean dealing with those mages more often."
Cesar sighed deeply. He knew he had to give this uninvited guest an answer now, or it might affect the entire Lohan Archipelago's plans.
He stared intently at the blond figure, his mouth feeling dry.
The opposing force is not the same as those present, but a powerful force capable of rivaling the Alliance on the continent.
The Srilan United Empire, an imperial state where several families take turns ruling as emperor, is facing off against the current emperor's fifth child, who is also the most likely to inherit the position.
"Your Chachek Chachak, I must warn you, the Alliance is too close to here, and strictly speaking, this is the territory of the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents."
Chachek knew this was a veiled criticism of his interference in the affairs of the Lohan Archipelago, a political overreach that was a mistake for a prince like himself.
However, he didn't seem to care much and slowly said:
"The situation is different now. Even if you have to make mistakes sometimes, you have to get involved in these things, otherwise you'll lose the initiative."
Cesar, having no other choice, could only shout at his servants to distract them.
"Where is the owner of Sea Blue Island? We've been waiting here for so long, why hasn't anyone in charge arrived yet?!"
