The situation at the Virtual Future Park was worse than Chen Ge had expected. He'd thought they had only placed a few old objects in the Haunted House. But after talking with them, he realized they hadn't simply put the objects there—they had used the Haunted House to give them a place to call home.
They had incorporated objects tied to real ghost stories into the Haunted House, and the Obsessions attached to them had found new life inside its scenes.
The key difference was that their Haunted House wasn't like Chen Ge's. The ghosts attached to those old objects were left uncontrolled, and could easily harm the visitors who came in.
Obsession was invisible. Visitors might not notice anything wrong with themselves right away after a visit. It could be a long time before all sorts of discomfort began to surface.
"You're being far too irresponsible with your visitors." Chen Ge really wanted to meet the person in charge of the Haunted House at the Virtual Future Park. There was definitely something wrong with them.
"Maybe Xiao Ling's friend is just unusually sensitive, which is why she said that. You have to understand, people can hallucinate when they're under extreme stress." The police officer was afraid Chen Ge might misunderstand.
"My friend was telling the truth. Nobody paid attention, that's all. Everyone knows there are no ghosts in the world. The real question is, how do you explain what she saw?" Xiao Ling started arguing with the officer. Leaning against the wall, Chen Ge watched with relish.
Before coming here, he'd guessed that the Virtual Future Park would hire actors to pretend to be visitors, and he'd been prepared for that. But he hadn't expected this group to be so unprofessional.
