Background / History

The original Qian Xunji was a thirty-year-old Soul Douluo and Qian Daoliu’s son. His pride collapsed after Qian Daoliu told him that, despite his unprecedented achievement by outside standards, he was the worst-performing descendant in Qian family history. His Soul Power destabilized during cultivation, and he died in anger 1.

A new consciousness then awoke in his body with knowledge of future events and the original owner’s memories. Initially uncertain of the current timeline, he investigated Spirit Hall’s records and resolved to alter the future rather than follow the known course of events 1 5. Later, it is revealed that he is a God of Creation who had sealed his memories and cultivation to experience life on Douluo Continent; death would lift that seal 64.

Qian Xunji became Pope of Spirit Hall and reorganized its administration so that a secretarial corps handled lesser affairs, allowing him to prioritize cultivation, strategy, and long-term schemes 6 89. Rather than directly conquering the continent, he focused on gathering resources, studying martial souls, cultivating successors, and exploiting divisions among rival sects 8 54 89.

After his apparent self-destruction during the conflict with Bibi Dong, he returned with his memories and peak strength restored. He executed Huang Family Three Ghosts for disobeying him, then revised the Angel Nine Tests to make them harsher 317.

He is also manipulative and politically calculating. He engineers disputes within the Clear Sky Sect, uses Tang Yuehua’s financial position to benefit Spirit Hall, and treats public morality as something powerful people use to protect their interests 80 103 177. His teachings to Qian Renchuan stress that kindness and justice can be tools of power rather than absolute virtues 177.

Despite his ruthlessness, he is protective of his family. He defended Ah Yin against Qian Daoliu, arranged demanding training for Qian Renxue and Qian Renchuan, and repeatedly placed himself between Bibi Dong and his son 54 89 310. His absorption of Rakshasa-corrupted power later nurtures an independent manifestation of his evil thoughts, “Evil Xunji,” within his spiritual world 309.
