Description

The Library Pavilion is a neglected three-story old building with a dusty wooden entrance, originally regarded as a place for discarded archives and low-status personnel within Martial Soul Hall 1. Its upper floors contain solid-wood bookshelves, ancient books, a tea table, and Su Chen's bamboo lounge chair 10 13.

• The pavilion's wooden doors and window lattices are repeatedly damaged during confrontations and subsequently repaired or reinforced with planks 11 14 17.
• Its third floor serves as Su Chen's primary room, where he reads, rests, conceals his power, and monitors events across Martial Soul City through the Eye of Omniscience 10 16 17.
• Ancient culinary books formerly used to prop up uneven tables in the pavilion are later retrieved by Bibi Dong for cooking research 43.

Security and Access

Forbidden-Area Designation

After Su Chen is assaulted by a deacon inside the pavilion, Bibi Dong declares it a Level One Forbidden Area of Martial Soul Hall 7. A blockade is initially established one hundred paces from the building 7.

Bibi Dong later orders the first and second squads of the Judgment Knights to take control of the pavilion and commands that anyone approaching within three hundred paces be executed without warning 16. The resulting guard cordon is described as impenetrable, even to Worship Hall personnel 21.

Breaches and Exceptions

• A Worship Hall spy attempts to cross the blockade using an Elder Token, but Bibi Dong intercepts him, destroys the token, and has him expelled from the inner city 11.
• Pei Yuan enters under the authority of the First Worship's decree, destroys the pavilion door, topples a bookshelf, and buries Su Chen beneath books and debris during an alleged audit 13.
• Qian Renxue uses Judgment Knight rotation maps to identify a brief blind spot in the perimeter and infiltrates the pavilion at night 24 25.
• Liu Erlong is permitted to approach only the outer perimeter during her negotiated tour; she remains at the three-hundred-pace warning line while displaying her Crimson Fire Dragon martial soul 37 38.

History

Bibi Dong first travels to the Library Pavilion at night to complete a system task requiring her to pour tea for Su Chen. At the time, she considers the building a dilapidated, forgotten place and Su Chen an insignificant low-level librarian 1.

The pavilion becomes the center of internal Martial Soul Hall conflict after a deacon harasses Su Chen there. Bibi Dong violently intervenes and subsequently elevates the site into a forbidden area under direct papal protection 6 7.

The Worship Hall's interest intensifies after its agents observe Bibi Dong's unusual protection of the pavilion and suspect that it conceals a divine object or secret inheritance 7 13. Pei Yuan's forced audit leaves the third floor heavily damaged, prompting Bibi Dong to treat the intrusion as an attack on her personal domain 13 14.

Qian Renxue later investigates the pavilion because of both her system task involving Su Chen and reports that Bibi Dong personally tends to him there. Her inspection request triggers a confrontation with Bibi Dong, who insists that not even Qian Daoliu may enter without permission 21 22.

By the time Liu Erlong arrives in Martial Soul City, the Library Pavilion is publicly known as the protected location of the newly appointed Holy Son, Su Chen. Liu Erlong's attempt to view the site becomes a political bargaining point between her, Bibi Dong, and Qian Renxue 37.
