Background / History

Tang Ya inherited the burden of the declining Tang Sect at a young age. When she was ten, the Iron Blood Sect raided the Tang Sect in Heaven Dou City, killing her parents and leaving her as the massacre's sole survivor. In the following years, her father's former associates refused to help her, deepening her isolation and resentment. 3 54

As the Tang Sect's sect master, she recruited Huo Yuhao and Lin Feng despite having only a handful of members. She sought a Mandara Snake soul ring to reach Soul Elder, determined to prove that she could restore the sect. The absorption triggered the dark power within her Blue Silver Grass; Lin Feng calmed her and temporarily suppressed it. 3

Mu En later identified the root of her condition: her Blue Silver Grass had gone awry, and only the Blue Silver Emperor's bloodline could fully awaken it and eradicate the dark power. He warned that the suppression would only last until she reached level 40. 14

Tang Ya and Lin Feng operated a barbecue shop with Ning Tian and Wu Feng, using it as a practical source of support while continuing their cultivation. 13 14

After Beibei rejected the Tang Sect's future and withdrew, Tang Ya chose Lin Feng and began a romantic relationship with him. She eventually abandoned the obligation of reviving the Tang Sect, which was later formally disbanded, choosing instead to remain with Lin Feng. 15 53 70

At the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, she failed to locate the Blue Silver Emperor, but gained the Jade Phosphorus Nine-Absolute Flower soul ring. She then returned to Heaven Dou City and exterminated the Iron Blood Sect, avenging her parents and the Tang Sect's destruction. 49 54 55

Appearance

Tang Ya is a youthful-looking girl who appeared to be about sixteen when Lin Feng first met her. She initially presents a gentle, quiet demeanor, but her bearing becomes notably sharper after her martial soul evolves. 3 66

  • Long black hair worn in a ponytail. 3
  • Youthful face and gentle smile. 3
  • After gaining the Ink Jade Blue Silver Spear, carries herself with a more valiant, heroic presence. 66
  • Her dark power can turn her Blue Silver Grass into ominous black or dark-blue vines. 3 45

Personality

Tang Ya is resilient, proud, and intensely determined. She refuses to relinquish the Tang Sect's legacy easily, even when its restoration pushes her toward dangerous choices, such as absorbing an over-aged soul ring and fighting beyond her limits. 3 26

Her resolve is intertwined with deep grief and vengeance over her parents' deaths. The unresolved trauma manifests as dark power and an inner demon, though she retains awareness and deliberately controls her targets even when that power surfaces in battle. 45 54

She is caring toward her companions and attentive to their futures, opposing plans that would harm Lin Feng's cultivation and agreeing to guide Huo Yuhao toward the Soul Tool Department. Though she can feel inadequate beside Lin Feng's rapid growth, she remains determined to become strong enough to stand beside him. 15 41 65

Abilities & Skills

Blue Silver Grass

Tang Ya's original plant-type martial soul specializes in binding, battlefield control, and vine-based attacks.

  • Used vines to pull the poisoned Beibei away from the Mandara Snake. 3
  • Her fourth soul ring granted Blue Silver Cage, strengthening her crowd-control capabilities. 25 26
  • Her control was described as airtight during the fourth-year assessment. 26
  • The martial soul's bloodline is incomplete and had developed a dangerous dark-power corruption. 14

Dark Blue Silver Grass

Tang Ya can release a dark manifestation of her Blue Silver Grass when driven by desperation, hatred, or unstable emotions.

  • Drains opponents' blood, vitality, and soul power through its bindings. 45
  • Enabled her to overpower Beibei's team and temporarily exert pressure comparable to a Soul King. 45
  • After absorbing the life force and soul power of Iron Blood Sect members, her aura briefly carried a trace of Soul Sage pressure. 55
  • She maintained clarity and selected her targets during the fourth-year final, but the ability remains tied to unresolved dark power and her inner demon. 45 54

Jade Phosphorus Nine-Absolute Flower Soul Ring

Tang Ya's fifth soul ring came from a hundred-thousand-year Jade Phosphorus Nine-Absolute Flower.

  • Raised her to Soul King and rank 52 immediately upon absorption. 54
  • Greatly evolved her Blue Silver Grass and allowed it to inherit the flower's lethal poison. 54 55
  • Combined with her life-devouring dark power, it elevated her combat ability to the level of a Soul King among the Shrek Seven Devils. 55

Ink Jade Blue Silver Spear

After absorbing the hundred-thousand-year Ink Jade Divine Bamboo, Tang Ya's Blue Silver Grass evolved into the Ink Jade Blue Silver Spear. 65 66

  • Forms a twelve-foot spear of dark jade from her martial soul. 66
  • Retains a plant-like life aura while gaining jade-like hardness and piercing sharpness. 66
  • Was judged by Lin Feng to possess a presence comparable to Chen Zifeng's Soul-Chasing Sword. 66
  • Its evolution increased Tang Ya's confidence, but she considered herself still far below Chen Zifeng. 66
