Watching Stelle, Phainon, Tribbie, and the others rush over to support him, Anaxa spoke in a hoarse, heavy voice:
"You certainly kept me waiting..."
"If you hadn't arrived soon, this Titan would have sacrificed me."
Sersis's voice was distant and timeworn, with a trace of helpless teasing:
"Hah, fragile Child of Man... Keeping you in one piece beneath my blade takes more effort than comprehending the ultimate truth."
As before, the Flame Reaver's body flickered, and dozens of identical clones split off from him.
Phainon glanced at his companions, then at the densely packed shadows across from them. He nodded to everyone and said solemnly:
"A war of attrition... We'll split up and take them on!"
Sersis sensed the resolve in Phainon's voice and let out a low chuckle, sounding faintly approving.
But the Flame Reaver was simply too powerful.
He had countless clones, and some bizarre power that could instantly restore them to peak strength!
