Aside from his Sharingan, Uchiha Nagi had basically hidden nothing. He told Tsunade about his condition, including how he had visited a doctor at the hospital before.
"Sleepyhead, no wonder you're so strong. So you go home and keep practicing every day."
Kushina had also just learned something that surprised her. He worked so hard that he even kept training after he got home.
"I'm only doing some necessary practice. The lessons at school have to accommodate most of the students, so some of them can't keep up with my pace. I'm sure I'm not the only one. For example, my deskmate, Namikaze Minato." Uchiha Nagi didn't think there was anything special about him.
"Huh? You mean that girly boy is strong too?" Kushina was surprised.
"Girly boy?" Uchiha Nagi stared at Kushina in astonishment.
"Uh." Kushina's face turned red. How had she blurted out what she was thinking? All she could do now was explain.
"He looks kind of delicate, and his voice is, too..."
"That's called being gentle and polite, okay?" Uchiha Nagi wanted to retort. "You think everyone's as boisterous as you, earning yourself the nickname Blood Red Pepper at school."
"Blood Red Pepper?" Tsunade had only found their bickering a little amusing, but now she'd heard something much more interesting.
Kushina's face instantly turned bright red. She glared at Uchiha Nagi, then tugged at the hem of her clothes and looked at Tsunade.
"Um, it's nothing, Sister Tsunade~ It's just a nickname those classmates came up with on their own."
"Is that so?" Tsunade narrowed her eyes at Kushina. There was definitely more to the story than she knew. She could look into it later.
"Mm-hmm!" Thinking Tsunade had given up on getting to the bottom of it, Kushina hurriedly nodded.
Tsunade made no comment, then spoke again. "Kushina, you should learn from your classmates, too. Set aside some time to train when you get home."
Kushina opened her mouth, but then she remembered the strength Uchiha Nagi had shown earlier, and that Namikaze Minato was probably stronger than her, too. Her confidence wilted, and she lowered her head.
"I know~"
Seeing Kushina agree, Tsunade nodded with satisfaction. She'd only come to help out, but she'd unexpectedly learned something useful, too.
She had only recently started thinking of this little girl as her younger sister, but she still hoped Kushina's life would go more smoothly.
Uchiha Nagi glanced at Kushina, too. He'd never see her act like this at school. Maybe she only showed this side of herself around her elders.
Kushina suddenly realized something and her eyes widened.
"Wasn't Sleepyhead the one getting examined? How did the conversation end up being about me?"
Tsunade and Uchiha Nagi both froze. Now that she mentioned it, she had a point.
Tsunade coughed and looked at Uchiha Nagi. "You've explained your condition very clearly, but that alone isn't enough to determine what's wrong with you. I'll need to give you a thorough examination. Is that all right?"
"Of course." Uchiha Nagi had nothing to hide.
His Sharingan couldn't be seen by others right now, but as a member of the Uchiha Clan, he wasn't like Hatake Kakashi, who couldn't turn off his Sharingan.
As long as he didn't want to activate it, Tsunade could examine him all she liked without discovering that he had already awakened his Sharingan.
Without wasting any more time, Tsunade began giving Uchiha Nagi a full-body examination.
Uchiha Nagi lay on the hospital bed like a patient and let her examine him.
However, it didn't take long for him to notice something very important...
The angle was all wrong. Tsunade had agreed to Kushina's request at the last minute, so she wasn't wearing her proper medical uniform. She also wasn't wearing the protective green vest that could make someone mistake her for being flat-chested. She was dressed in ordinary clothes.
And while Tsunade's fashion sense wasn't quite the same as it would be in the future, it already showed hints of it.
So when Tsunade bent over a little, he only had to keep his eyes open to see some very beautiful things.
His face instantly turned bright red, and he closed his eyes.
Kushina noticed, too. A little puzzled, she eventually let her gaze settle on Tsunade's chest.
Then she held a hand up to her own chest to compare. Before long, her face was full of dejection.
How... how could hers possibly compare?!
"So you're a little pervert, too."
Tsunade had naturally noticed the two of them, but she didn't mind.
She might have been a little unhappy if he'd gotten a good look, but that hadn't happened, had it?
Besides, he was only a six-year-old child. If she made a fuss over it, she'd be the one with a problem.
"Your body's in good shape."
Just from the examination, Tsunade could tell how strong Uchiha Nagi's body was. He was nowhere near her level overall, of course, but he was only a six-year-old boy.
As time passed, the examination slowly entered its final stage.
Tsunade's expression grew more and more serious. She had accepted Kushina's request thinking she'd only need to go through the motions.
She had great confidence in her medical skills and hadn't thought she would be unable to fix whatever problem Uchiha Nagi might have.
But once the examination was over, she reached the same conclusion as the doctor before her: Uchiha Nagi was perfectly healthy. There wasn't a thing wrong with him.
If Uchiha Nagi hadn't described his symptoms so clearly, and if Kushina couldn't vouch that he wasn't lying, she would have thought he was pretending to be sick.
"Lady Tsunade, how am I?"
The examination was over. Uchiha Nagi looked at Tsunade's furrowed brow, and his heart sank. Was his condition really that serious?
Tsunade was quiet for a while, then asked about the intensity of Uchiha Nagi's daily training and whether he was getting enough nutrition.
Uchiha Nagi answered readily, telling her everything.
Listening to him speak so methodically, Tsunade could tell even just from his account that his training was very well planned.
From the moment he first described his condition, Tsunade had noticed that he was far too composed for a child his age.
He was logical and calm, and his abilities were impressive for someone in his grade.
All of this made Tsunade realize one thing.
That was... the Uchiha Clan was about to produce another rare genius.
The thought weighed on her, but she would still do everything she could to treat him.
Whether because he was Kushina's classmate, or because... it was her duty as a medical ninja!
