Atop the statue, Kou looked at Madara's grim expression and let out a long breath of relief.
Looks like that really worked.
I only meant for Sasuke to use that ocular technique for support. I didn't expect it to work this well.
Kou marveled inwardly, a flicker of relief rising in his eyes.
Perhaps because he had awakened his eyes under different circumstances, Sasuke had not gained Kagutsuchi as his other ocular technique, as he had in the original timeline. Amaterasu, of course, remained unchanged—apparently even the ancestors' ways could not be tampered with.
Instead, by sheer luck, he had awakened an entirely new ocular technique, one never seen before: Enma!
The ability of that ocular technique was called... Judgment!
Anyone struck by Judgment would be unable to move for a short time. They could not circulate the chakra in their body or use any ninjutsu or ocular techniques. They became a Prisoner who could only stand there and take a beating.
When Kou first heard what the technique did, one phrase came to mind even as he marveled at it: They're lagging!
There was no question that the ocular technique was downright nasty. The catch was that it had rather strict conditions for use.
It could not be used on its own, nor could it be applied directly to a living being.
It had to be attached to a nonliving physical object, such as a ninjutsu attack or ninja tool, which then had to hit the target.
In short, it worked like an enchantment, turning an attack into a purely conceptual one.
And perhaps there was some mysterious connection between ocular techniques, because this one happened to be exceptionally compatible with Amaterasu.
After all, Amaterasu only required the user to look at a target for its flames to appear
