The Uchiha were traditionally cold and proud. Under normal circumstances, they would not casually pursue women.

Even as children training to be ninja, Uchiha tended to look down on everyone. They rarely gave pretty girls the time of day.

On the whole, the Uchiha were a distant lot.

But Lord Hokage seemed different. Not only did he have Yugito, he had gone out of his way to get involved with Lady Tsunade...

Yugito's position in Konoha was awkward. Lord Hokage trusted her, so her freedom was not restricted.

But she was still a ninja from Kumogakure and could not access classified information in Konoha.

And even if she shared Xuanye's bed, she could never become the Hokage's wife. Not even being a Perfect Jinchuriki would change that.

Both sides had more or less accepted it.

Hong Dou had thought she stood a good chance. She had far more political backing than Yugito, and according to the plan Kurenai had drawn up for her, winning him over was only a matter of time.

But now Lady Tsunade had stepped in, and that made things troublesome.

Whatever else might be said, no one in Konoha had a stronger claim to legitimacy than Tsunade.

That left Hong Dou unable to put her plan into motion anytime soon.

She couldn't very well fight her own senior martial aunt, Lady Tsunade, over a man, could she?

Hong Dou shot Yugito a speechless look. You're useless.
