Background / History

Genya emerged within the Uchiha Clan as an unusually capable young shinobi. After awakening a Three-Tomoe Sharingan in his genin examination, he was subjected to a special jonin examination against Hatake Kakashi, where he used a Shadow Clone and his dōjutsu to outmaneuver the Copy Ninja. Sarutobi Hiruzen bypassed the sitting Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, to arrange the examination, reinforcing Genya's view that Minato's authority was constrained by the older leadership. 3

After awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan, Genya challenged Uchiha Fugaku's passive response to Konoha's suppression of the clan. He argued that the Uchiha's strength should serve as a deterrent in negotiations, and warned that continued concessions would eventually push the clan and village toward civil war. Fugaku accepted his assessment and became increasingly dependent on Genya's direction. 10

Genya rose through the Security Division while building alliances across Konoha. He assisted in exposing Shimura Danzō's crimes, executed Danzō with Musō Isshin, seized Root's assets, and ordered an investigation into its members.
