"Is this Roran? I didn't expect there to be such a prosperous city in the desert." Seeing the tall buildings rising before her, far surpassing the prosperity of Konoha, Hyuga Hana covered her mouth in amazement.
"It's indeed magical, but what does this have to do with the moon? Genichi, didn't you say that if the conditions were right, we could go to the moon?" Mikoto Uchiha asked.
Genichi smiled faintly, "Don't rush, wait a little longer."
A while ago, intelligence about Roran was brought back by Konoha's intelligence department, with rumors that the mysterious minister Anrokuzan was secretly manufacturing a terrible weapon behind the Queen's back.
Upon learning of Anrokuzan's conspiracy, the Third Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen appointed Genichi to further investigate and protect the Queen of Roran, thwarting Anrokuzan's plan.
Genichi said, "Lord Hokage, carrying out missions within the Land of Wind is too dangerous for those children. I've decided to bring Hyuga Hana and Mikoto Uchiha along. This way, even if we're surrounded by Sand Shinobi, we can retreat calmly with Magnet Release's flight ability."
"Heh heh, of course, no problem."
In the original Konoha year 66, Naruto accepted a mission from Tsunade and, under Yamato's leadership, tracked the rogue ninja Mukade along with Sakura and Sai.
They eventually triggered the power of the Dragon Vein in Roran, returning to the past and meeting a young Minato Namikaze, with whom they carried out a mission together.
Even if the Third Hokage hadn't said anything, Genichi, who was very interested in time travel, wouldn't miss this opportunity.
Would he encounter the Naruto team from the original story?
Or would it be his future self, sending him a cheat across time?
The celebration was underway when suddenly, Her Majesty the Queen on the high platform seemed to be pushed from behind by someone, stumbling forward. Just then, the railing, aged and dilapidated, gave way, causing the Queen to fall from the platform along with it.
Sensing a certain blonde-haired individual rapidly approaching, Genichi stopped Hana and Mikoto, who were about to act.
"Is that a Konoha forehead protector? Why would there be a Konoha ninja here?" Hana asked, confused as she recognized the person.
"Looks like parallel ninja worlds are crossing over. It's tough not having an old man to pass down power to me."
Genichi thought to himself, then said, "Don't rush, let's watch a bit longer. Hana, follow these energy conduits and find where the Dragon Vein energy is most concentrated."
"How can this be!" Hana exclaimed, activating her Byakugan to observe closely, "These people aren't human at all!"
"If they're not human, what are they?" Mikoto asked, puzzled.
"They're all puppets, connected by puppet strings, controlled by someone," Hana explained.
"Found it, these conduits all converge at the base of that tower."
"It's probably Anrokuzan's doing, but no rush, let's go check out the Dragon Vein first." Genichi created a shadow clone to follow Naruto and then headed towards the Tower of Thousand where the Dragon Vein was located.
Naruto held Princess Sara, with her long brown hair, in his arms and smiled, comforting her, "It's okay now."
"Slap! Slap!" "That hurts."
Suddenly falling from the high platform, Sara, still shaken, saw a strange man holding her and instinctively slapped him twice, then elbowed Naruto down, "Let go of me, you rude person."
"What are you doing? I just saved you," Naruto said, touching the mark on his face with one hand, explaining helplessly.
Sara finally came to her senses and thanked Naruto respectfully on the surface, while inwardly complaining, "What a rough guy."
"I heard the crowd call you Queen. Do you know where this is? Have you heard of Mukade or Roran?" Naruto asked quickly, having not only lost track of his mission target but also separated from his companions.
Sara replied, "What nonsense are you talking about? Isn't this Roran?"
"Ah, but isn't Roran just ruins? I was just..." Naruto scratched his head, finding it very strange.
"Please don't say such inexplicable things. Roran is a town I inherited from my mother, more important to me than my own life," Sara interrupted him, somewhat angrily.
Watching the two youngsters bicker back and forth, Genichi's shadow clone did not intervene. The priority now was to maintain the status quo and buy time for the main body to research the Dragon Vein.
Inside the Tower of Thousand
Genichi thought carefully and did not seal the Dragon Vein directly. He said mysteriously to the two women beside him, "We've finished our research, let's go. We shouldn't keep the Queen of Roran waiting.
Don't be too surprised by what happens next!"
Then Genichi and the others appeared before Sara and Naruto, revealing their identities as Konoha ninjas and explaining, "We received intel that Anrokuzan is secretly harming the citizens of Roran and the previous Queen, plotting to use the power of the Dragon Vein to conquer the Ninja World."
Afterward, Genichi directly took Sara to find the surviving citizens of Roran and dismantled the human puppets they encountered along the way as evidence.
"Impossible! Minister Anrokuzan is devoted to Roran, how could he do such a thing!"
Listening to the citizens' tearful accounts, the facts were laid bare before her. Someone was indeed trying to harm her life in secret. Sara's eyes welled up with tears, unable to accept it.
Naruto also found it strange, "Big brother, are you also Konoha ninjas? How come I've never seen you before?"
"This is my first time seeing you too. I sensed another ninja with a Konoha forehead protector over there earlier, were they with you?" Genichi sensed Yamato's location.
"Ah? Could it be Yamato-senpai?" Naruto vaguely remembered Yamato-senpai rushing forward before being engulfed by the light beam.
Once Sara had somewhat recovered, Genichi encouraged her, "There should be other survivors in this city. Now that you know Anrokuzan's true face, as the Queen of Roran, you should pull yourself together. Your people are waiting for your salvation."
Finally, Sara made up her mind to fulfill her duties as Queen properly.
Thus, the group arrived at the entrance of Roran and found the unconscious Yamato.
"Naruto! Are you alright?" Yamato asked, concerned upon seeing Naruto after waking up, then asked, "Also, who are you people? Why are you wearing Konoha forehead protectors?"
"Us? Of course, we're Konoha ninjas, heh heh. It seems something interesting has happened." Knowing the whole story, Genichi didn't intend to explain slowly. Now that everyone was present, he directly asked, "How many years has Konoha been established this year?"
"Of course, it's 46 years, why the sudden question?" Mikoto answered directly, while Hana seemed lost in thought.
"What do you mean, year 46? Isn't this year 66 of the Konoha era?" Naruto exclaimed upon hearing this.
After briefly comparing intelligence, Yamato realized that the Second Shinobi World War had only just ended, and the Third Shinobi World War had yet to begin.
"Don't say any more, Naruto!" To prevent excessive information leakage that might cause the future to shift in unpredictable directions, Yamato forcibly cut off what Naruto was about to say.
"Yamato, right? I don't think there's any need to be so tense," Chiba Genichi explained the concept of parallel ninja worlds. "We must be from different ninja worlds."
"Simple time travel is almost impossible to achieve. Think about it: if you traveled to the past and killed your younger ancestor, would you still exist? If you didn't exist, how would your ancestor have died?"
Yamato listened, lost in thought, while Naruto looked stunned. "I don't know what you're talking about, but does that mean we aren't in our original world anymore? What if we can't go back? Sasuke! Sakura!"
"Don't worry, the main culprit is here." No sooner had Genichi finished speaking than the situation changed.
Genichi and his group had made no attempt to hide their tracks. Seeing them gathered together, Mukade decided to concentrate his power and finish them off in one go.
He transformed into a monster resembling a cross between a centipede and a spider, charging forward with his army of puppets. "A disobedient queen has no value, and as for you Konoha ninja, you can all be buried here along with Sara."
[Wood Style: Great Forest Technique] Yamato's right hand transformed into several wooden branches, attempting to bind Mukade, but they were sliced apart by the sharp blades on the puppet's limbs.
Although Mukade claimed to be the greatest puppeteer in the Ninja World, if you stripped away the nearly infinite energy of the Dragon Vein, he was merely a decent jonin-level puppeteer.
Genichi didn't waste any breath on him. With a flick of his mind, a massive amount of Iron Sand surged out, penetrating the interior of the puppets. While dismantling them, he pulled the core—Mukade—closer.
A Contract Seal severed the connection between Mukade and the Dragon Vein to prevent him from recovering, followed by another sealing technique that restricted Mukade's control over his chakra.
"Is this... Wood Style?" Hana and Mikoto were incredibly astonished.
"This is Magnet Release? So strong." Yamato sighed, feeling a bit puzzled. How could a Konoha ninja possess Magnet Release? He had never heard of such a thing.
"So strong, Brother Genichi! This is Mukade, right? You took him down in an instant. Does that mean I can go home now?" Naruto was also very excited.
"You only need to head to the core of the Dragon Vein and reinforce the seal; you should be able to go back," Genichi explained. "By the way, Yamato, you used Wood Style just now. Are you a member of the Senju clan? Or a product of Wood Style experiments?"
Yamato hesitated. Although the Wood Style experiments were a secret, this Konoha ninja clearly knew about them, and since they weren't from the same world, he replied, "It was a human experiment involving Wood Style. I was the only one who survived."
"Then do you remember where you lived before the experiment?" Genichi asked.
Under Genichi's influence, Orochimaru had not directly conducted human experiments, so where the Yamato of this world was remained a question. Clearly, Yamato had some affinity for Wood Style, and Genichi had no intention of letting this useful tool for reforestation and construction go to waste.
"Heh, I don't know." Feeling an inexplicable sense of malice, Yamato didn't want to answer, and he had indeed forgotten many things from before the experiment.
Hearing that the village was secretly researching the First Hokage's corpse and conducting human experiments, Hana, who had previously followed Orochimaru, had heard rumors, but Mikoto was completely shocked. She hadn't expected such darkness within the village.
Finally, the group arrived deep within the Tower of Thousand, the core of the Dragon Vein. The Dragon Vein was a crystal of chakra formed by the convergence of vast amounts of natural energy from the earth's ley lines, possessing unique space-time properties.
Who in the world was most likely to master the power of the Dragon Vein? Was it the Queen of Roran?
Of course not; it was Chiba Genichi.
Because among those who studied natural energy, he was the best at sealing techniques; and among masters of sealing techniques, he was the most proficient in natural energy.
He also possessed a certain talent for space-time, and although his Flying Thunder God technique was only just beginning, it was more than enough for this purpose.
Next, he only needed to combine the Flying Thunder God mark with the Four-Symbols Seal to restrict the overflowing power of the Dragon Vein, then kill Mukade—who had integrated the space-time seal into his body—to send Naruto and Yamato home and resolve this incident once and for all.
However, was it really going to be that simple?
