Vol. 5The Grail War Emerges

Michael and his allies overcame threats at Ogawa Apartments and Reien Academy before the Holy Grail War began to gather Masters and expose its trials. The stretch ended with Tatsumiaino’s group defeating Assassin and claiming her card, while the war’s final enemy remained ahead.

Arc 17Ogawa Apartments

Michael dealt with the Bomb Demon and Asagami Kōzō while Tōko took on Cornelius Alba’s challenge. As Shiki helped Enjou Tomo investigate his past, Michael’s trap ensnared Anhas, and Enjou discovered the truth about his parents and the apartment.

  • Kuramitsu Ruka’s bombs failed to harm Michael, who took Ruka’s right eye and revealed that he had scripted the futures Ruka saw.
  • Michael confronted Asagami Kōzō, hypnotized him after a coin toss, and returned to Garan no Dō, where Tōko Aozaki recognized the Mystic Eye he had taken from Ruka.
  • Tōko agreed to teach Asagami Fujino, then faced Cornelius Alba, who challenged her over her research and her younger sister’s title.

Arc 18The Fairies of Reien

Ryougi Shiki and her allies defeated Souren Araya and freed Michael, then investigated the fairies haunting Reien Academy and uncovered Kōro Misaya’s revenge for Kaori’s death. The arc ended with the group celebrating at a festival, where Ryougi Shiki sought time alone with Michael.

  • Ryougi Shiki fought Souren Araya at Ogawa Apartments, destroyed his brain jar, and carried Michael out as the building collapsed.
  • Enjou Tomo recovered his memories of Araya’s repeating deaths, while Tōko Aozaki defeated Cornelius and reunited with the others.

Arc 19The War Begins

Sajo Aika returned to the Sajo Residence with Michael as Sajo Ayaka became a Master and entered a dangerous clash with Reienkan Misaya. Across the city, new Masters summoned Servants and Tamakiaino’s tower trial ended with her memories altered and her brother briefly in sight.

  • Miyazaki Yota met Michael and Sajo Aika on the road, then hurried to school after recognizing Aika’s surname.
  • Sajo Aika reunited with Sajo Hiroki and Sajo Ayaka, while Michael explained her slow aging and warned Hiroki about Sangred Fain.
  • Sajo Ayaka touched the Sword Sheath in her father’s locked room and summoned Artoria Pendragon Lily as her Servant.
