Although Soya hadn't unleashed Solar Flare, just shouting those three words was enough to make all the monsters present shut their eyes on reflex. Their hatred only grew more intense.
Soya gained nearly 100,000 more Negative Emotion Points.
Since Soya had flown into the sky and used Solar Flare for the first time, he had unknowingly gained nearly 400,000 Negative Emotion Points.
And the points were still refreshing nonstop.
Soya was over the moon.
How had he never come across something this good before?
With 400,000 Negative Emotion Points, he could do forty ten-pulls in the lottery.
He was guaranteed a prize every time!
Even if he only got ten points of battle power each time, that would still give him 400 battle power.
It was almost too good to be true!
The monsters on this planet were so friendly!
"Solar Flare!"
Soya shouted the name again without actually using the technique.
Sure enough, quite a few more monsters gave him Negative Emotion Points.
Unfortunately, the haul wasn't as big as last time.
"Damn it! Soya, what kind of fighting style is this? You made us lose our sight too!" Raditz snapped through gritted teeth.
"Raditz gained 888 Negative Emotion Points!"
Soya: "..."
Was Raditz an idiot or something?
I told you not to look, and you just had to look!
"I told you all not to look at me. Why didn't you listen?" Soya chuckled.
"Give us a warning next time!" Vegeta grunted, his face darkening.
"Vegeta gained 333 Negative Emotion Points!"
"What kind of weird move is that?" Nappa grumbled. "You could've wiped them out easily, but instead you had to blind them!"
"Nappa gained 444 Negative Emotion Points!"
"This way, we can avoid casualties." Soya didn't mind the complaints. He stepped forward and punched the ugliest-looking monster so hard it was driven deep into the ground.
"Sosiaralbotneki gained 1,000 Negative Emotion Points!"
Soya paused in surprise.
So this guy was called Sosia!
How come your name was so similar to mine?
And you were so ugly, too.
"You're too ugly! I'll start by killing you!" Soya grabbed one of the monster's fingers and swung it back and forth in every direction.
With every slam, the monster's Negative Emotion Points kept refreshing for Soya.
Every time, he got 999 or 1,000!
This was an absolute Grinder for Negative Emotion Points.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Soya swung the monster around by its finger, spinning it through the air.
One turn, two turns, three turns...
It spun faster and faster.
Soya let go, and the monster shot away in a straight line, plunging into the distant forest.
Then Soya immediately turned and swept his gaze across the other monsters.
One by one, they trembled in fear, not even daring to bare their teeth.
Their Negative Emotion Points, however, kept refreshing.
The next moment, one of the monsters suddenly let out a cry, turned around, and ran.
With the first monster fleeing, the others immediately lost their nerve and ran after it.
"Don't run! Get back here!" Soya shouted.
"From Kurabotesorlulu..."
"From..."
Another huge wave of Negative Emotion Points refreshed.
Soya's grin nearly reached his ears.
"Prince Vegeta, why do I get the feeling that he's having a great time fighting?" Carnegie couldn't help murmuring to Vegeta.
"I noticed too. Look at that obnoxious grin!" Nappa bared his teeth, holding back the urge to go over and beat Soya up.
"This fighting style is shameless!" Raditz clenched his fists, as if sticking up for the monsters.
"I thought he was going to run away, but instead he flew into the sky and used that Solar Flare thing..." Kuri said with a helpless laugh. "But really, why is he having so much fun fighting?"
"Hmph, this is what a Saiyan is like! The more we fight, the more excited we get!" Vegeta suddenly found himself admiring Soya's style.
Even though Soya had just blinded him.
Still, this was the first time Vegeta had seen a Saiyan having so much fun in battle.
This was the unique style Saiyans were supposed to have.
"You should all learn from him!" Vegeta snorted. "We're the warrior race, the Saiyans. Enjoying a fight is the most basic thing."
Nappa, Raditz, and the others fell silent.
Prince Vegeta, you kind of had a point.
The problem was, that guy's grin was way too obnoxious.
Was he enjoying himself a little too much?
Soon, the monsters had been more or less cleared out, and the area fell quiet.
Soya slowly flew over from afar, happily clapping his hands.
"The monsters all ran off!" Raditz looked around, lifting his chin thoughtfully. "Why does it feel like we were the ones getting surrounded?"
"According to the information provided by the Frieza Force, the monsters on this planet aren't supposed to have any intelligence!" Nappa frowned. "But judging by how they fought, they're clearly intelligent creatures!"
"Hmph, and you believe anything that Frieza guy says?" Vegeta snorted, as if he'd expected this all along.
Soya didn't respond. Instead, he immediately looked at the Negative Emotion Points on his system panel.
So far, Soya had gained a total of 500,000 Negative Emotion Points.
Five hundred thousand Negative Emotion Points!
It felt amazing!
This planet was even more dangerous than he'd imagined.
He'd better raise his battle power as soon as possible.
If he accidentally died at the hands of a monster, using that resurrection would feel like a waste.
Lottery time!
Soya got right to it!
Fifty draws. Begin.
"Congratulations! You've won 77 battle power!"
"Congratulations! You've won 11 battle power!"
"Congratulations..."
Soya's battle power kept rising as he silently prayed.
Come on, give me some kind of special prize, like Battle God Water.
"Let me see if there are any monsters left nearby!" Raditz said, pressing the button on his Scouter to check the area. Then he reported, "They all ran off. Soya scared them away. The nearest monster is already more than 300 kilometers away!"
"Looks like Soya really gave them psychological trauma!" Nappa exclaimed.
"Hm? Soya... your battle power..." Raditz suddenly froze, unable to stop himself from gasping.
"Don't talk. I'm busy raising my battle power." Soya scolded him impatiently.
Raditz: "..."
"Raditz gained 666 Negative Emotion Points!"
What the hell, "busy raising my battle power"?
But... that did seem to be exactly what was happening.
On Raditz's Scouter, Soya's battle power kept refreshing.
"Beep! Battle power: 857!"
"Beep! Battle power: 868!"
"Beep! Battle power: 880!"
Raditz was completely dumbfounded.
What was going on?
Why was Soya's battle power increasing nonstop?
And the increases didn't seem to follow any pattern!
How could this be happening?
"Raditz, what's going on?" Nappa asked, puzzled.
"Is-is-is my Scouter malfunctioning? Soya's battle power is going up!" Raditz stammered.
"What? Why are you making such a fuss? His battle power is rising? That's perfectly normal. Sometimes ours goes up a little too! My battle power is said to be 2,000, but they just ignore the numbers after that!" Nappa said with a light laugh, not taking it seriously.
So his battle power had gone up. What was there to make such a fuss about?
Raditz couldn't say a word. His face flushed red, then pale, as he stared at Soya like he was a monster.
It had to be a broken Scouter!
"By the way, Prince Vegeta," Nappa said, ignoring them as he turned and smiled at Vegeta. "Eat Sleep Beat Doudou is actually pretty fun. It's a great way to kill time!"
"Oh? Is that so?" Vegeta shot Nappa a sidelong glance.
"Really! Why don't you join in next time?" Nappa chuckled.
If Prince Vegeta joined in, Soya might end up being the one they played Doudou with.
"Could be worth a try." Vegeta nodded thoughtfully.
As the future king of the Saiyans, it was important to spend time with his subordinates and interact with them once in a while.
"His battle power is 1,100... and it's still rising!" Raditz couldn't hold back and exclaimed again.
"Y-you said what?" Nappa gaped.
"1,188!" Carnegie added.
"1,199!" Kuri followed.
"1,298!" Raditz said, his mouth twitching.
"What kind of growth pattern is this?" Carnegie couldn't make heads or tails of it.
Vegeta and Nappa were bewildered.
What were they looking at?
Why were you all staring at Soya?
Vegeta and Nappa immediately pressed the buttons on their Scouters, too.
When Nappa saw Soya's battle power, his eyes widened in disbelief.
You've got to be kidding!
Soya's battle power had already reached 1,300!
And it was still rising!
He hadn't done anything!
He'd only killed a few monsters!
No, wait. He hadn't killed a single monster, had he?
"Th-this..." Nappa's expression became a sight to behold. He felt completely baffled.
"Interesting." Vegeta's lips curled into a faint smile.
This guy named Soya really knew how to catch people off guard.
In just a few seconds, his battle power had almost reached 1,500!
I want to see just how high your battle power can go.
Three minutes later.
Soya's battle power stopped at 3,400.
The fifty draws had earned him a total of 2,600 battle power.
Unfortunately, he hadn't gotten any special prizes.
Still, with 3,400 battle power, Soya's chances of staying safe on this planet had clearly improved.
"Battle power... battle power 3,400!" Nappa stammered.
"A-are you a monster?" Raditz asked in astonishment, staring at Soya as if he were a monster.
"Wasn't what I told you before clear enough? Only with a peaceful heart can you better temper yourself!" Soya said with a grin, speaking earnestly.
"So... this is how you raised your battle power to this level?" Raditz asked excitedly.
"How else did you think?" Soya was secretly delighted.
"So that's why you were smiling so happily while fighting?" Carnegie chimed in.
"Well... yeah..." Soya nodded awkwardly.
I was smiling so happily because I was farming Negative Emotion Points.
Can you understand how satisfying that is?
Vegeta, however, said nothing. He gazed intently at Soya.
Could this method of raising battle power through a peaceful state of mind really work?
Should I give it a try?
Before you continue
