The Tree of Might

I had to admit, the process of elevating life was quite wonderful.

Bulma was as tender as water.

After that, Li Feng spent all his time honeymooning with Bulma. They traveled through mountains and rivers, taking in the beauty of nature, and visited urban attractions, experiencing the bustle of big cities.

One day, Bulma suggested inviting their friends to a picnic.

Krillin and Gohan came. When they saw Li Feng, they were both excited and happy.

"Huh? Li Feng? You and Bulma are together?"

Krillin was surprised.

"Yeah. I'll take good care of her from now on."

"I'm worried about you. Can you handle her temper?"

Krillin whispered to Li Feng.

"Kri... llin!"

"Huh?"

Bulma wasn't nearly as gentle with Krillin as she was with Li Feng. She turned into a shrew.

"Are you saying I'm usually bad-tempered and fierce?"

"N-no..."

Krillin didn't dare look up.

"Ha ha ha ha!"

Li Feng and Gohan burst out laughing.

Just then,

"Whoosh!—"

A meteor fell from the sky and crashed into the woods not far from them.

"Boom!"

It left a huge crater in the ground and unleashed an astonishing amount of heat, starting a fire.

The trees caught fire, and the flames quickly spread until the entire mountainside was ablaze.

"What happened?"

Krillin turned around and saw that the forest was burning.

"Don't worry about that now. Let's put it out with our ki!"

Li Feng suggested.

Li Feng, Krillin, and Gohan then flew into the air and released ki from their palms, creating powerful gusts of wind that extinguished the fire.

Li Feng found it strange. As he remembered it, nothing was supposed to happen around this time. After they dealt with Vegeta, they should have gone to Namek.

"Crack!"

Once the fire was out, charred branches fell to the ground. The once-lush forest had been reduced to a wasteland, leaving devastation everywhere.

"Huh? The animals are all homeless now."

Gohan said sadly.

"Ding! Quest issued: Defeat Turles!"

"Quest reward: Tree of Might fruit cultivation method."

"Accept?"

The system's notification rang in his mind.

"Accept!"

Li Feng answered without hesitation.

But then he felt puzzled.

"The Tree of Might fruit cultivation method? Isn't it just a matter of planting the fruit directly on a planet and letting it absorb the planet's nutrients?"

Li Feng asked.

"That is an incorrect cultivation method. Growing Tree of Might fruit should not always come at the cost of sacrificing a planet."

"The new cultivation method allows the Tree of Might fruit to absorb energy sustainably, while producing the same effects."

So that was how it worked.

Li Feng immediately recalled the events of the Turles Saga, and then he understood what had caused the fire.

In the original story, Turles's Detector machine had crashed into Earth and started a fire. It then sent data to Turles's spaceship, and his men came to Earth to plant Tree of Might fruit. Goku and the others tried to stop them, and in the end, they used the Spirit Bomb to destroy Turles.

According to the story, Krillin should have suggested using the Dragon Balls to restore the forest. But before long, half of Earth's ecosystem would be destroyed, so using a wish now would be a waste.

Sure enough, Krillin suggested using the Dragon Balls to repair the environment.

"We shouldn't use the Dragon Balls so casually. We've already put out the fire. Let nature recover on its own."

Li Feng stopped him, then used what he knew about sustainable development and other modern concepts to convince Krillin and Gohan.

Everyone gathered for a lively get-together, while Li Feng waited for the story to unfold without drawing attention to himself.

Meanwhile, in the burned forest, a soldier wearing a Saiyan Battle Suit dropped a seed into a crack in the ground.

Not long after,

"Boom!"

Several thick vines burst out of the ground, greedily absorbing its nutrients. They grew taller and taller until a towering tree erupted from the earth and continued to grow.

"Goku, Earth is in danger!"

King Kai's voice reached Goku.

"Someone has planted a Tree of Might on Earth. Once it takes root on a planet, it will suck up all the nutrients and turn the planet into a desert."

"What? That's really happening?"

Goku was shocked and hurried to tell everyone.

"Let's go destroy the Tree of Might together!"

Krillin suggested.

"I'm in!"

"Count me in!"

"I'll go too!"

Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and the other Z Fighters all agreed to go.

But hadn't Yamcha died earlier? Why was he here again?

As it turned out, the Yamcha in this world had been lucky. He had seemed to die, but he was only in a deathlike state. After Li Feng finished fighting, he had revived him with a Senzu Bean.

Li Feng went with them, of course.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!—"

The group flew toward the source of the ki. Gohan couldn't set off yet because Chi-Chi wouldn't let him go.

Goku and the others flew toward the canopy.

The enormous Tree of Might had a canopy the size of a soccer field, stood tens of thousands of meters tall, and covered an area as large as a small village. And it was still growing.

"So you're the ones who planted the Tree of Might and are destroying Earth?"

Goku asked angrily.

"Heh heh. Humans, you should feel honored to become nourishment for the Tree of Might."

A young man with a wild, punk hairstyle and a Battle Suit laughed.

"You're the ones who destroyed the plane I'd just taken out a fifteen-year loan for?"

Yamcha was even angrier!

"Unforgivable!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

There were five opponents and six of them, so when the fighting began, Li Feng was left out.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Everyone fought fiercely on the tree.

"Ah, another day of babysitting."

Li Feng lay on a thick branch, bored as he kept an eye on the various battles.
